Hi:

I was wondering if the all the enzyme's have a shelf life of 2 months or just the lemon zest one?  I tried the pomengrante tonight on my skin but I didn't feel too much although I do have tough skin.  Maybe I should have added steam to it?

Also should you use steam with all the enzymes?

Hi, I actually keep my enzymes in the fridge , not sure if thats good or not, but they seem fine...as for the pomegranate enzyme, it definitely tingles on me, and lots of my clients, with or without steam, your probably right that you have tough skin!

I have never tried the pomegranate so can't tell you on that one, but so far the shelf life has been much longer for all of mine. Keep lids on tight and wipe down, and make sure that you dip out with a CLEAN implement...I use a plastic spoon cuz I can get just the right amount out with one dip. I have "felt" all of the enzymes I have used - even the Raspberry/Peach and the Coconut/Papaya...the mildest one I thought was the Harvest Enzyme.

I use steam with all enzymes unless I will be doing a treatment where I don't want the skin pre-warmed (like Radiancy) or when client has extremely reactive skin. Steam keeps the skin moist - and the enzymes need moisture to work, and the heat makes it a little more active.

My Lemon Zest limped along to about 4 months before oxidizing and I had to toss.

I asked Lisa if it would make a difference keeping in the fridge, at the time she told me it wouldn't make a significant difference with the Lemon Zest. But it sounds like a good practice to me anyway.

Hi Everyone:

All of the products have a shelf life of at least a year, EXCEPT the Lemon Zest and the retail Vitamin C.  They are ascorbic acid and will oxidize after 2-3 months.  With the Lemon Zest you should expect to receive approximately 16 treatments from a 4 oz jar.  Lemon Zest should be your "go to" enzyme since it fits most skin types.  So, if you can do 16 treatments in 2-3 months, you are good to go.

On the Pomegranate enzyme, yes, start adding the steam when you want to intensify it.  You mention it didn't feel as tingly as usual.  Sometimes our skin is more sensitive in the beginning to product.  That's why we have the option of bumping or accelerating your enzymes with acids.  So, add steam, then next time, maybe add some 30% glycolic.  Sound good?

Lisa,

I keep my enzymes in the fridge as well.  Does this extend their shelf life??

Kim - It doesn't hurt to put them in the refrigerator, but it doesn't extend the life.  Think about taking a bite of an apple and putting it in the refrigerator.  It still turns brown from oxidizing from free radicals.
