Hi Everyone. I am looking at doing a pamper day for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I already want to do an event and maybe call it 50 Shades of Pink and focus on pink lipstick. But I also want to have a pink themed skin care treatment and am not sure how to do a pink theme. I guess I'm just looking for any ideas! Thanks!!

I found it hilarious just reading it, though. haha

Good luck on your event!! I'm sure it'll be a big hit. :)

One suggestion for you, from a cancer survivor ... just something to keep in mind ... if you don't have a personal reason to focus on just breast cancer, it would be a LOVELY idea to change the theme from "breast cancer" to simply "cancer." There are so, so many kinds of cancer out there and I guarantee you that you have many clients and potential clients whose lives have been touched by it.

For those with a type other than breast cancer, October can often be a difficult month because there is just SO MUCH media focus for this particular cancer, that it sometimes does start to feel as though breast cancer is the only type that's being considered worthy of support. I have actually had the experience (multiple times) of telling someone I had cancer, and being met with the instant assumption that it was breast cancer -- even seeing surprise on someone's face when they found out there were other kinds women get! (I know that sounds unbelievable, but it's true!)

It is so much more inclusive and I believe more beneficial to both the clients and your own business if you do all the same things you're planning but simply take out the word "breast" from the marketing.

Very good points Carrie.

@ Cat - I agree "The Pink Facial" sounds great.

@Faith - I use Skin Script too...I have some peels from other vendors that have a berry name - but for easy cost effective promotion I would stay with the Skin Script.

Clients don't see what color the stuff we put on their face is, so I would not be concerned about that.

I agree believe me my father just passed two weeks ago from lung cancer and have done things to support the ALA. I was doing this for October since its breast cancer awareness month. I definitely agree that there are sadly tons of other types that get overlooked. Just like in May I will focus on skin cancer awareness month.
