"My 8-Year-Old Comes With Me To All My Waxing Appointments"

I came across this blog post the other day about a mom who brings her 8 year old daughter along when she goes in for a bikini wax. How would you feel about this as the esthetician if one of your clients brought their children along for a waxing appointment? Personally I'd think it was kind of weird, but I'm wondering how others would respond?

I would ask if the child could wait in the waiting room.  It's too distracting to have a child in the room, especially with waxing.  I would hate to drip hot wax on the child if they got in the way.

I agree, the last time I had a child come in with their mom (whom I know from a friend), she spilled juice all over my ottoman bench which has a cloth cushion. So I was keeping an eye on the kid, and waxing the same time. Very distracting....

I had a client at a previous job who brought her 7 year old for facials.  The child was crawling all over her mom, bouncing her around in the chair while I was trying to work.   It was truly annoying.

Perhaps it's more for protection? Still kinda strange-if it is that - would rather take a friend.

even though I have 3 kids myself, I don't bring them to stuff like this. They can touch things, or bump into something, etc. too risky.
