I added a group on Facebook called Skin Care for Estheticians. I didn't really see anything on there that had what I wanted/needed. I love this forum, obviously, but FB is instant and I'm always on it. I thought it would be nice to have something for Estheticians to go to for ideas, products, jobs, questions, etc (pics too...love seeing pics of treatment rooms, results, etc). I've been a Makeup Artist for about 12 years now and I am part of a lot of groups on FB for that and I have found it very useful over the years. Just thought we could do the same for esthetics. Hopefully you will all want to join. I guess with groups, you have to ask to join (by clicking on "join group") or be invited. I would like to keep this group for Estheticians only and have a "no selling" policy. Maybe we can avoid the MLM companies from trying to sell to us. I have seen that happen in groups and on other pages.

Here is the link. See you on Facebook!

Are you on LinkedIn?  There are a ton of Esty groups on there.  I have noticed some are MLM traps...lol, but there are some really great ones, including ASCP.

Sheila--I work hard to keep the MLMs out of our ASCP group, so I really appreciate hearing that you like it! Thanks :-)

Awesome, thanks for the hard work Abram.  I feel like some of the groups I have joined has just opened doors to be contacted by many MLM'ers and I usually don't accept their invitation.  It's funny because everytime, they make it sound like this great thing and then boom it's a MLM that you  have already heard about!

Haha no kidding, they're relentless! There was a discussion a while back where someone started the whole thread to complain about MLMs--and then one of them came on, and started trying to sell their product! Some people just don't give up...

I know, I started it.  LOL

LOL! Well, speak of the devil ;-) I'm glad to have you participating both here and on our LinkedIn group--you bring great energy to the discussions, and some great discussion topics. Thank you!

I am but I am on FB all the time. It's more of a convenience thing. And since its worked so well for the makeup side of things, I figured it would work well for this too.
Some people are joining so hopefully it continues to grow. The more the better is how I see it. :)

Just don't forget about us on here! There's lots of us here and we like when you post! :)

Hear, hear! :-)

I'll be posting an idea soon on the FB group page regarding a wallet-sized brochure you can pop into your gift certificate envelopes! A friend of mine found it on u tube, and I have adapted it for my own use!

Sounds great! I'm looking forward to seeing it b/c I would love to have something like that for my gift certificates.
