Hi friends! I was wondering if any of you have a small studio and work a regular job as well? Or did you do that in the beginning and now you are at your studio or spa full time now? How did it work for you? How long did you have to do both jobs? I have a waxing studio and a part-time job (that I sometimes think is full time) I have a had my studio for 1 year :) and I am doing well. I want to be there full time but my husband and I are nervous about me leaving my steady paycheck. Anyone have any advice? Is there ever a perfect time to take the leap of faith? I feel like I'm never going to make more money if I am not at my business!

Thanks for your help!

I am in the same boat, and am looking forward to your replies! Happy to hear you are doing well, and thinking about when to take the leap! Wishing you Peace and continued success!

Wishing you the same... Hope all is amazing in your business. I look forward to answers as well...

I worked a full time job and then cut my hours down to 30 per week while in school and working at a spa part time.  I did this for about 5 months after getting out of school.  I then quit my job in June with benefits and all which was totally scarey and still is.  I worked at the spa full time but quickly realized there was no way in the world to make ends meet working for someone else.  I took the leap in november and rented a room at a salon.  I did take quite a few of my clients with me, ran a groupon which has carried me through.  From that groupon, I have sold more treatments to the clients, they bought for others and cross sold them products and other treatments so I have been pretty busy.  Still a struggle but so far so good.  I think you have to just work hard and try it.  You will never know till you try! :)  Good luck and keep us posted.

I currently work a regular paycheck job outside of the field 30 hours a week and work at the spa evenings and weekends.  I want to work spa full time, but I'm in the same boat, afraid to take that chance.  I'm hoping that this year I can build up a savings so I can take the leap!

This is all great advice. I have been building my business for a year and although I feel ready.. I don't want to end up losing my business completely. I am waxing in an area that is near the beach and walking distance to the college... I am just hoping I can keep my business going so I can be confident when I take the leap. I plan to keep promoting the business I just don't know when the time will ever be "the time" i am glad I have this forum to listen and learn from other people here! Thank you all.
