I have also used GlyMed and Image and like them both. (They are very similar, like Osmosis and CosMedix). I have heard a lot of good feedback on SkinScripts and may give them a try some day. My opening order with Dermalogica was $3600 and with CosMedix it was $12,000. It's a big cash outlay and in this slower economy, it's not so easy to do. You can pick up some good products at CosmoProf or Maly's and give them a try first. Also, go to the trade shows since they will usually let you purchase the products you want. And of course, get valuable feedback from fellow esty's right here!! Good luck!! :-)

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to the New York trade show next month so I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Has anyone ever heard of Glymed? If so how is this line?

I haven't used Glymed but I have heard really good things about it. My friend swears it is what finally helped clear up her acne.

Hmmm... that one doesn't ring a bell. How did you hear about it?

Just searching the internet.

I would suggest YG Labs, but you said you want a brand that people will recognize, and they are a private label lab.  (You brand it for your own business.)  I love their products, though.  Expert formulations, clean ingredients, attention to detail, and they are constantly innovating.  Their prices are reasonable, and they interact very well with their Esty clients - it feels like a small company the way they stay in touch and provide continuing education on skin care in general and their products in specific.  yglabs.com if you want to check it out.

Do they have a makeup line? I'd rather stay away from private labels for skin care but if they have a makeup line that would be great. I didn't come across it on there website but maybe I overlooked it.

No, they are Esthetician-only, skincare only. For makeup, I like Glo Minerals! No minimum order amount and they offer pro palettes with all their shadows and all their foundation powders.

Hi, there! I am interested in Glo minerals and saw the palettes on their website; does the makeup pop out of the palettes?  I'm really big on keeping things sanitary and want to be able to scrape product into a separate palette before application.

Out of the lines listed Dermalogica would be my preference. The line offers something for all skin types and conditions. The drawback would be the initial investment. Awesome classes offered @ IDI for account holders and employees.

Oh I meant other than those product lines what would people recommend trying.
