There's a ton of networking opportunities out there.... BUT choosing the most beneficial is key to sharing one's focus.  I've been recently nationally certified with NCEA; belong to Cosmetology Educators of America (NCA), and Esthetics America through the Nat. Cosmetology Association.  Years ago when building my practice I found that it was vital to belong to business women's organizations (business women's groups, chamber of commerce, etc.) where I attended monthly meetings, participated in conferences, and built my practice.   Now we have the internet and social media which boggles the mind (WOW).. but so necessary if we are going to get the word out regarding our profession.  Supporting and sharing with one another is imperative to our survival as an industry.  Additionally, education is a key factor in building knowledge.  Best wishes for a successful and peaceful New Year.

I have been a student member of the ASCP since I started school in August.  I feel that the education I have gotten from the webinars and Skin Deep is priceless.  I will be graduating soon and will be upgrading to full membership for sure.  I think the products, services, education, and support the ASCP offers is awesome.

I belong to the AIA and participate in their networking site as well.  I even guest blogged on their Marketing 101 blog in December.  The AIA and Dermascope are awesome.

Even though I am just coming out of school I have received such amazing support from both organizations.  I look forward to getting to know more members and learning from all of you.

What is "AIA"?

I belong to ASCP, and have since I was a student as well.  Thanks for the information on all the available associations out there.  I will definitely have to look into these other ones.
