Can anyone help me out? I am a new esthetican renting a room in a salon. Can you give me ideas as to what I can do to really impress my clients? I'm looking to WOW anyone who comes into my room. I've been doing facials the most, but I feel I need to step it up a notch. I want them to leave feeling like they got the best service ever!

thanks!

extractions: I tell them HOW wonderful their skin looks. Commend them for a job well done, lots of praising!!! And while during the skin analysis face, they might have had a few black heads, a good exfoliation will get rid of them.  I usually say when this happen: 'WOW! this stuff works so well! I am amaze every time I use it. It removed all your blackheads, left your pores super clean. No extractions today. Congratulations! Psychology works!! without exceptions, I swear, they say 100% of the time: "oh good, that's great news".

Black heads on the nose, honestly, I learned the technique from Dermalogica.  If you could take a class with them, that's my best advice. There is indeed a technique for it to make it less painful.  If you can't get them out, and probably I will be killed on this forum, I use a lancet to open up the pore and then use the extractor. But I insist in using a good exfoliant, and if you use mild scrubs, the addition of a clarisonic for those specific clients with hard blackheads works wonders. I literally have seen black heads on my cotton pad when removing the exfoliant from the skin.  You know what's a GREAT combination? Dermalogica's daily microfoliant with clarisonic!! Addictive! LOL (OMG! I just realized what a geek I am!!)

I went to get a facial from another esthetician to see what it was like. She used Dermalogica! I swear my face NEVER felt better! I use cures not and I have requested information from Dermalogica before and asked for samples, but they never sent me any. What is the minimum purchase for them? I want to start using some of their products on my face to see if I want to switch. I am really interested in that line.

that's strange because they're on top of it.

Contact them again.  The rep will want to make an appt with you to tell you all about it.  I think the starting point is $3500.00

ouch, what new esty has that?

I know! I think they have a cheaper package but then you don't get the "ggodies" that come with the $3500 package (I think $800 in backbar products for free???) Not sure.  I talked to a rep last year and just couldn't afford that much up front.

Oh wow! I just spent like 2600 on all cures products. I can't afford that right now. Maybe I will just use some of their products on myself for now.

Have you tried the daily microfoliant mixed with scaling fluid? BAM! The blackheads float out.

i try to offer and nice consult, have nice comfortable bedding, nice music, candles, i do a welcome massage with essential oil to begin relaxation, face and neck shoulder massage and finish with a scalp massge  goes over pretty well.

sounds divine! I LOVE scalp massages!! I hardly ever get them :-( and honestly, I would pay ANYTHING for a good scalp massage!!!

Dermalogica has high minimums and you have to purchase so much throughout the year to keep your account.

I really hate to hear that because I love the product line, it is what I was "raised on" in school and use at home.
