Hey!  I had two teen clients yesterday, one was 12 and the other 14.

12 year old, tiny bumps on forehead, neck and back and also some breakouts.  I feel the bumps are more folliculitis so I gave her mandelic serum to try.  She is combo skin.

Blemish Cleanser

Blemish Toner

Light Aloe Moisturizer

Sunblock

Sound good?

Should I have her on Green tea for Am cleansing?

Also, drinks a ton of milk, etc so I educated on diet and taking probiotic.

14 year old

Same tiny bumps on forehead but never breaks out.  Skin Normal-Dry

Pom Cleanser or Green Tea?

Cucumber toner

Light Aloe Moisturizer

Sunblock

Both are using things like seabreeze, mint and mud masks weekly and whatever andom skin care.  I am thinking they are definitely overdrying.  I am worried about drying the 12 year old out too much, what are your thoughts?  I am putting them both on a Mandelic Serum for what I feel is the folliculitis.  12 year old is using products that exfoliate and while the mandelic is exfoliating, do I need to add anything for the 14 year old?  I don't want to get too aggressive.  mom is trying to do on a budget, she is LMT here and I am sellign her wholesale so she will use the pro products and stop buying store bought things.  I also gave them a mask that I don't use, its Nardos Naturals and can be used on all skin types, just differs from time left on.

Any other suggestions or alterations would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!  I am trying to keep it simple as well.  I have them checking their makeup for pore clogers as well.

Sheila:  I would agree that their current homecare could be drying.  I, also, worry about pre-teens and exfoliation; ensure she is only using the Blemish Pads 2-3 times a week.  I would go with your suggestion above.  If it ends up over-drying the 12 year old, then I would switch the Blemish Cleanser for the Green Tea Cleanser.  I will do the same for you (exchange the product so you don't have waste).

As far as professional treatments, I love, love, love the Coconut enzyme with the dermafile used during the last few minutes.  With my teens and pre-teens, I find they respond really well to this enzyme and filing.  It polishes, smoothes, softens, their skin.  Not too harsh, but they feel the softness to their skin.

Other's thoughts and experiences?

Awesome!!  Thanks Lisa!!  I did Raspberry on them, I was out of coconut but will order it today.  I was thinking of having her use the blemish at night only, green tea morning if she cleanses.  Would you just put her on cucumber toner instead?

Sometimes its a really tough call between the Blemish toner and the Cucumber toner.  I don't want to overdry the skin, but I want to dry up the acne too.  I think I would lean towards the Blemish toner 2-3 times per week.  Again, if its too drying, switch it out and I will replace it.

I think both toners can be good when she feels to try switch off and on for the hydration as well as drying some of the breakouts up could I be wrong? and I was wondering about folliculitis in teens How can we tell the difference opposed to real breakouts .Sarah which Mandelic serum are you using ?  and the dermafile is awesome for the little bumps I use it on my grand-daughter with the enzyme as well .Ps I love this web page. xo

I personally switch between the two and love it. I am using the Face Reality mandelic 5% for them just to try out. I tested their sensitivity first with it. I want to start them each on 4 products. I sent them both home with samples and they were both so excited and appreciative.
Folliculitis is almost rash like and doesn't extract like acne but more like a watery substance. I learned this from Laura.

ok I see I always thought it was because men shaving or women shaving  would get this , kinda like ingrowns. ya know . or irritation?  But I am aware of the tiny bumps like underlying and when I try to extract nothing really and some times a bit of yeah like watery substance. But when I use enzyme and dermafile or microdermabrasion  as well it really does smooth out the texture of skin nicely . Thanks Sheila .

I guess this type is more fungal and responds well to Mandelic. I typically see on forehead, neck chest and back. Sometimes taking a probiotic helps. I was always afraid to use dermafiles on it fearing more irritation but that's great advice! Thanks!!
Sheila: my teen clients do very well on the ageless serum too. It gives great hydration to allow the bumps to extract out during treatments.
