Hi there.  I just heard about the concept of Peel Parties today.  I haven't done them and was looking for any information, experience or suggestions you might have.

I do spray tanning and have done spray tanning parties - I was thinking this might be done in a similar fashion.  My primary concern would be choosing the right products for each individual.  Perhaps a more gentle peel?

Thanks for any advice or comments.

These site specific body wraps were totally new to my clients. Of Course they will try anything for $25/$35 if they know it will work. Once they See their results they buy more. They tell their friends & then they want one. Book a party & have all their friends come. They find out your an esthetician - now they come to you for facials. It's a Win/ Win situation. I did an event for Curves Fitness 2 weeks ago & I am still getting New facial clients.
Also, I had a salon contact ME because they kept having clients ask if they do a "skinny Facial". They saw my advertisement at Curves and now they carry it in their salon. This is So Easy to do as an Add-on treatment to a facial, or any one hour treatment. With summer practically here- people are interested

Cindy I just had to comment on how I admire your raw honesty !  I have to say it is extremely refreshing :)

Hello Julia,

Yes, have been doing "peel parties" for at least 7 years !  In my case... the host invites her friends and serves light snacks, in her home - host peel will be done @ no charge.  You bring the product and monitor for any excessive redness etc., they rinse themselves in the sink and pat dry (bring their own towel), apply calming non-drying masque, they rinse.  You would apply moisturizer and sunscreen :)  Post peel instructions and hope to book for the next week until the series of 6-8 is completed.  Best wishes !

If you are looking for a peel suitable for several different skin types feel free to read comments on iskyn.com

I know I'm a year out here, but what did you charge for something like this?

I would love the outline for your spa parties too: info@renewskincarestudio.com

Thanks :)

How is everyone getting away with this in homes?? In Ohio I have to obtain a special event license to do ANYTHING outside my studio.

Gina....massage therapists etc are not supposed to go into people's homes and work on clients 'but they do'.  In our industry unfortunately there is such a grey area with not much wiggle room for working.   It is one of those things that most know we shouldn't do, but do anyway.  The chances of any clients knowing what the state board rules are and actually reporting you (why would they if they didn't know the rules?)  are very slim.   I used to work for a 'huge' company that sent us all to hotels, different events and peoples homes to perform services and they were making tons of money.....but state board never knew and they keep doing it and that is California (the nanny state, that allows nothing!!)  Some people Gina just take the risk and nothing happens.   Ignorance can be bliss i suppose.. not right, but it is what it is...

Hmmm I run my own business and am not about to take that risk... all it takes is one person to have a serious reaction to a peel. My license is too valuable to me. I'll stick to my studio!

Good point.

Hi Gina, one of the grey area/loop holes is having a Direct Sales Home Based Business. That's what those business' do- work from home Or go to outside areas. It's Totally legal and you don't need a special license. There are A Lot of Great companies out their with Exceptional Products. The company chose to market their companies that way because they know word of mouth is the most legitimate. I use "It Works" as my company. They offer Site Specific Detox Wraps that I use during my clients treatments. My clients love them! You can check out my link on my website radiantFacesAndWraps.com Tanya:-)
