Brooke first I am super impressed that you maintained 100% of your clientele thats awesome...the fact that you have built and maintained tells me that you will be able to build up in makeup and facials. which skin care line are you using? and do you have a referral program? I think if you do a free facial on the stylists and cross promote with them maybe they would be willing to talk about the facials to their clients. I am in chicago and i am trying to build clients for waxing and lash extensions...do you have any tips for me on how you built your clients with that?
Hi Brooke
I agree with Sarah, do not ever approach coworkers clients, however offering to the other workers is one of my best ways of getting referrals.
I moved from a city Phoenix and Scottsdale AZ to a small town of 900 my salon is in the next town over Giddings TX. I found going to the people working in the area, joining chamber and local networking, worked the best for me Good Luck. I hope your head is ok LOL
Sarah, thanks for your advice, I think a referral program might be the answer! I had a hard time with lashes in the beginning because I wasn't properly trained. The key now that I've learned my technique and have my groove is educating the client on proper home care. Its easier for you to perform fill ins if they know how to keep them on. And you retain more clients if they don't feel like they aren't wasting money having to come in every week because they fall off. And don't skip on good glue! I've tried them all, and the one that I'm using now isn't that expensive but you have to move fast with it. With Brazilian waxes, I can not stress enough the importance of making that client feel comfortable! Women are still modest and desperately seeking a waxer that makes them comfortable in a vulnerable situation. Most women are insecure and if you can make them comfortable and perform a clean, thorough wax, then they always come back. I've had client that I had only seen once a year before I left my last location dig out my card and hunt me down before seeing the new girl at my last location, simple because they didn't want anyone else seeing their lady parts. Oh and I use tu'el skin care by eva esthetics. My clients love it and so do I!
