I just had a wonderful meeting with the Pevonia Rep and was wondering who is using the line and who has used it.  Any thoughts, likes, dislikes?  I am looking to transition from Glotherapeutics because I feel I am not getting the support that I need when it comes to rep involvement, sample availability, and education.  I of course love the Skin Script line but keepuing my options open for what else is out there.  I like the idea of Pevonia because of the naturalness of the line and using organic ingredients when they can.  I am not looking for an organic line necessarily but the area I am in (there is an Organic and Gluten free Cafe) I feel I would attract more clients offering at least one organic facial and some retail. Other suggestions are welcome!!  I have a ton of backbar and retail of course but I have thought about selling it.  Glo's shipping kills me, $no less than $20 at a time (unfortunately for me though I love their makeup so I will either have to buy on ebay or from them direct, depending on which is less, sadly).  I like that Pevonia has a ton of products not just for hte face but body as well and really nice kits (but the amount to choose from can also be overwhelming) so any feedback would be awesome.

I worked with Pevonia in the past...

IMO - it is an easy line to use, and you can do lovely facials (loved the Sea and "C"  kit).  There were a number of products that I liked very much.  Pevonia has a good reputation for education and support. Good reputation overall. I was educated with Dermalogica and on a side-by-side comparison would choose Pevonia over D...but mostly because you can get D anywhere and Pevonia is (or was anyway) a little more exclusive and has higher quality products (again - in my opinion).

There are several things to consider...

- I think that there are other product lines out there that are more results oriented.

- The available retail is very high priced (as I recall anyway) and my sales were negligible.

- The product line is HUGE and while certainly pretty easy to learn, it would take a huge investment to get going with this line.

- Back when I was using it, spas had to be approved first, they had extremely high opening order and re-order requirements. Given the economy, they may have relaxed somewhat.

Overall - I see this line perfect at a resort spa and not so much as a good fit for a solo.

If you are looking at a higher end line...did you check out Rhonda Allison?

I looked into private label, but so far have not found any one place that I would base an entire line on. But that sounds like that might be an option for you in the future.

Well put.  I worked with Pevonia and had a similar experience (however I was able to sell retail very easily since I was in a hotel spa at the time).

One concern when I worked with the line is that I had to be extra cautious regarding allergies - especially tree nut allergies, since they use a lot of fancy nut oils like hazelnut.

I could certainly put together a healthy skin regimen for most skin types through this line, but I wouldn't say it would be my first pick unless I was moving to more of a "fluff facial" type of situation (like a hotel).

As an alternative, have you looked into Sanitas?  I find they blend very well between a spa-like experience and more results-oriented products.  Another one to investigate would of course be HydroPeptide.

I thought about using their body line and spa candles...who knows, I am really not in a position to change financially, business has been slow unfortunately but it can always dream :).  I think I will stick with the original plan of Skin scripts.

I have done pretty well with Skin Script myself.  I supplement with peels and definitely masques from other companies.

And I am definitely looking to add more serums.  I am considering bringing in Circadia as a 2nd line. And have sampled some private label...but no winners so far.

FWIW -I really don't do that many body treatments.  I even offered a FREE treatment on my website and FB page to get volunteers to experience a new treatment I was thinking about bringing in (Red Wine scrub + wrap...who wouldn't want that!?). Everyone else that I have talked to says they don't do much in body treatments.

For my scrubs I am only using the Spa Blends Butter Scrub now.  I get the unscented. They also have a reasonably priced body mud masque that I have had for a year with NO bookings. I like their Body butters to use for a hydrating wrap.  I am also a LMT and sometimes use their Massage Whip (great ingredients). I do not retail this line. Bella Luce that Ally mentioned sounds like the best choice - especially if you want retail.  I have heard that their chocolate line is yummy.

I went with the M'Lis Body Wrap - have had good response with that. Otherwise I have taken off my menu most of the body treatments.

I was thinking body line more for retail type products. 

Cindy what other lines are you using for peels and masks?  I tried the SS lactic peel and I really loved the results and will try the glycolic this weekend.  I don't mind Glo's peels and I think Image has some really nice peels (especially the passionfruit one for pregnancy type clients).  I really like the restorative antiaging mask from glo but it's $90 for an 8 oz...I ended up going with the Goji from SS since it was much less.  I would like more serums too so I may look into some image for that.  Their hyaluronic acid is awesome and is around $25...or Sanitas has a pretty good size thing of HA but it's $90.  SS, Image, Circadia, Sanitas and a few others will be at the show in Ft Lauderdale in Nov so I am hoping to pick up a few things. 

I really should be focusing on getting clients in the door :).

Cindy, have you looked into Covalence for private label?  I have ordered some samples from them (samples are $5 each but are a decent size) once you get set up with them.  I was going to do a energizing facial spritz but it's not in the budget right now unfortunately. 

no I haven't - I've looked at YG and Vitelle and a couple that are not even worth mentioning.


I should probably take another look - but the Covalence info regarding mins and packaging had my head spinning. (Actually I think that SS may work with Covalence).

But I will probably put it off till next year (sigh).

I have product from all over the place: Hylunia - my last line which I have dropped - peel and masques; peels and masques from Skin Fitness Therapy; one peel I tried from Rose Skincare; a Dr Jeff Collagen masque; and  A.N.D. chocolate masque

If you are going to a trade show you can check out Skin Fitness Therapy (I have tried their serums - most are good but higher priced), look at the masques from A.N.D.,   I am not a huge fan of the Eminence products - but lots of people buy from them at the shows. I like to make up themed facials and body treatments, and I mostly build the idea around a masque or a peel (for body treatment I use or create a particular scent with the scrub and/or body butter)

Very cool!  I think A.N.D sent me some samples recently (I had a week where it was sample overload and I kinda just put them away bc it was a bit overwhelming).  I have a note in my book to check out skin fitness therapy!  The people at Covalence were really easy to work with and very helpful when I was talking with them.  I have all of the info they sent if you want me to email it to you.  My friend actually is an Esty and she works in the customizing department so thats how I found out about them. They have tons of stuff...she said she wasn't sure their peels are very strong but I ordered about $80 worth of samples to try.  It's funny because after getting the products like the vitamin C, you can definitely link it to other lines.

I have been using Pevonia in my treatment room for 7 years now and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! I have been retailing it for 7 years as well. I am an independent contractor who did no have a big budget when I opened my order and the company worked with me, in other words they will work with your budget if you are an independent contractor and it did not brake the bank.

My clients LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pevonia for facials and I do alot of them. At times I average 14 facials in a 4 day work week.

 

I agree with someone who said that the line is mainly carried in higher end (larger) spas, so with that said, my clients who are world travelers and are familiar with the line are highly impressed when they walk in and see that I carry this amazing skin care line.

 

As far as pricing, feel free to visit their website and get familiar with their retail prices. I sell a pretty decent amount of products and carry what sells best. The prices begin at $18 for their teen line and go up to $185. There is a product for every budget. (I do not keep in stock their most expensive moiturizer because it doesnt sell well but when ever a clients inquires about it and wants it, I will gladly order it for them) The products always ship over night (I'm in the east coast) and there is an education center an hour from where I live which is excellent! Their classes are always free and you can attend as many as you like. 

 

You will not regret going with Pevonia as I have not regreted it one single bit and will continue to carry this outstanding line, especially now that I am in the process of expanding my business and opening a larger spa.

I am training for my skin care license currently and we just got the Timeless Pervonia line~

I was impressed with the CDrom training and the educational and promotion type items included with the Kit. 

I have to study the video a few more times, and see what the product feels like.  We are considering carrying the retail items (or at least a few of them).  Most of the clients here are mature women, what do you think of the Timeless Collection.  Is it a relatively mild, not irritating line.

I find Pevonia to be too omni-present.  

As for Glo's shipping, set up your own fedex account and ask them to ship everything billed to your account. That way you get the real price on shipping, not their marked up one.  All of our vendors work this way.  

Also, makes accounting easier when you have an invoice from a product line it is all product and you dont have to put in a separate entry for the shipping costs.
