It's probably better to wait until you are ready to go out on your own.

As you gain experience you may find that you want to specialize in a certain area.

And hopefully you will take this time to keep informed about product ingredients and equipment.  Read everything and try out/learn about products at trade shows too.

You will find that you will naturally gravitate to certain companies, and that your preferences will change over time.

There are too many variables to try and lock in a product line choice this early in your career.

Thank you so much Cindy I will follow your advice sound great to me I truly appreciate you took time to respond.

Sincerely,

I agree - lots of trade shows and sample requests until you are actually ready to proceed with ordering a line.  Now is the time to be learning a LOT about ingredients.  Google each ingredient that you don't know as you are exploring the line you currently use for facials...  beware of biased websites with ingredient info, like the EWG's Skin Deep database, which is very slanted.  Be sure to read multiple links for each ingredient that you research, and if it helps you remember the ingredients, you can make flashcards about each one.  When you do get ready to order, be sure to review each product's ingredient list thoroughly and compare it to your notes on what you like in a product.  Only order products that you know you will be able to confidently recommend.

Many product lines will either send you samples or allow you to place sample orders at wholesale cost with just your esthetician license, but some will require business information like a non-home address, EIN, and state resale license.  However, enough lines will sample to you with your esthetician license, I would focus on those companies for now.

Thank you so much Christine I will also follow you advice I appreciate your time to reply.

Best Regards

Patricia

Go to the shows and go to the biggest booths first and get samples.  Then go to the smallest booths and talk with some of the owners but make your first statements with all in some way say this:  :))

"I am just looking and would like samples. I do not want pressure or a lot of emails." Something like that...

Have an alternate email address other then your main one. Do not give cell phone or business phone. A professional line who cares will get this and will allow their skin care line to speak for itself, hope this is good advice.

I posted on this board today a really good piece on the skin care industry that I think will really help you. Please check it out.
