Hello everyone as I said before I am a new Esty loving this career so far, I am wondering is somebody could suggest a good book name and author that I can buy to learn about ingredients and a good book to learn more about Acne since is what I am really interested in learning to help my clients who suffer from it. I appreciate your help and time in advance.

Thank you very much,

Miladys Skincare & Cosmetic Ingredients Dictionary! Miladys has a bunch of great books on the whole field, I believe most of us used the basic Miladys Esthetics textbook when we were in school. You can get it from amazon, here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1435480201

Thank you so much Nina I appreciate it. I will buy it  :)

I just bought a new one and I love it!! "The Skin Care Ingredient Handbook" by Linda Walker... I also have the Milady's one that Nina spoke of.

Thank you so much Angel I appreciate it your time to respond too I will get that one too :)

Your welcome!!! I am a fairly new Esty myself and i always look for as much info as i can possibly find!!! :-)

Me too I graduated this past April I am very excited and eager to learn as much as I can as you know school just teach you the very basics. Thanks Angel I wish you the best in our career.

It will be a year in December since I got my license and You are right, just the basics!!! Lol. So much to learn. Sometimes it is a bit overwhelming. But I love it!! I wish you the best as well!!! :-)

Oh that is awesome congratulations!! Are you doing your own business already?

I work in a day spa as an Independent Contractor... I am the only Esty there, so its kind of hard, i was hoping to work with someone to learn from. So for now, its trial and error trying to figure things out on my own... Lol

Oh really that is great I am sure you will get a lot experience and you will be a great skin therapist, I work at Massage Envy I love my job and my clients always leave happy thank God I pretty much been in my own too I had a little bit of training but I do a lot research in my own :) so great we connected here to share experience and ideas :)

For acne education I highly recommend the late Dr. James E. Fulton's book "Acne Rx," which you can buy through his company, Vivant Skincare.

As for ingredients, since the studies are changing all the time, I prefer to use an online ingredient dictionary.  I use Paula Begoun's "Cosmetic Cop" dictionary because even though I do not agree with her all the time (especially on her analysis of finished products), I still think she is thorough and incorporates scientific studies wherever possible into her ingredient information.

Thank you so much Christine I appreciate the advice I will definetely look at those books I really interested in learning about Acne. Thanks again :)
