What is the suggested daily SS regimen for pre-teen & teens with mostly blackheads at nose, cheeks & chin, minimal actual acne and minimal oil(balanced)?

I keep everything simple and with minimal chemical use.
* gel cleanser (am/pm)
* light aloe moisturizer
* weekly exfoliation ( 2 times a week)
A few things I can't live without
* Rhasual clay, bentonite clay or kaolin clay
* herbal recovery oil from Eminence organic
* tea tree
* oil is good for the skin, not to be afraid.
* a little salysilic goes along way in moderation: and no to Benzoil peroxide

Hi Leigh:

Pre-teens:  I think its a matter of learning cleansing and good habits at this point.  Their skin is exfoliating rapidly already so I avoid harsh exfoliants.  If they are pre-puberty they aren't producing a lot of oil yet either.  I would put them on the Blemish Control Cleanser and Light Aloe Moisturizer.  For a professional treatment I would use something gentle such as Coconut Enzyme or Raspberry Peach enzyme.  I think they could use the advice of a good aesthetician with tips such as (1) cleanse every day, (2) washing their pillowcase/sheets every week, (3) not resting their face on their hands.  I know these seem basic, but many of us need to be taught.

Teens:  If they are into puberty and their skin is beginning to produce oil, I like our Mild  Acne Kit which contains Blemish Control Cleanser (daily cleanser), Blemish Pads (2-3 times a week), Blemish Spot Treat for larger breakouts, and Light Aloe Moisturizer.  For a professional treatment I would start gentle with Coconut Enzyme, move into the Blueberry Enzyme, and eventually the Cranberry 20% salicylic Turnover peel, if needed.

I think the key is good cleansing habits, good makeup foundation for girls, plenty of water and a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, lean meats.  The impact we can make as an aesthetician to young people is huge!  We are their teachers for good skin care habits.

I hope this helps.  Have a great holiday season!

Lisa
