I'm interested in hearing feedback on this topic as well

From what I have seen and read, they can do some damage by causing tears to the pores and making holes in the skin.

Yes they work and yes they improve acne scarring and stretchmarks.  Yes, they make holes in the skin...that's what they are supposed to do...it's basically mimicking Fraxel laser without the cost and the downtime.  I've gotten phenomenal results.

Do you have any photos of your results? I'd love to see some thx
I believe using the correct roller and needles with training it is safe and affective. I perosnllly have not seen or heard anyone with unwanted results. I have also read and seen pictures of non- professionals or home use causing scratching of skin or making the condition they bought in first place worst.

Yes, it work, not only for acne scarring also good for anti age and pigmentation.

I've heard its great on all fitzpatricks. Im V/VI so I would new interested to see. From where did you all purchase.your rollers?

I've had really great lifting/firming results on myself, but it is a painful process.  In the past I have rolled over peptides and retinol.  Obviously when I rolled over retinol, I did peel a little the next few days.

When you do it on your own skin, it is VERY hard to use even pressure all over your face.  Bony areas like forehead, temples, etc. will get much less pressure than cushy areas like cheeks and nasolabial areas, for the simple reason that it hurts to roll those bony areas.

I have been ambivalent to offer it as a treatment because the good (gamma sterilized, burr-free) needle rollers are so expensive, and I am nervous about maintaining them in a disinfected state for that individual client to receive 2-3 sessions with them.  Likewise I am hesitant to retail the rollers because I know how hard it is to apply consistent pressure to one's own face (and this is from an esthetician - I do my own peels and have a high tolerance for discomfort for facial treatments).

If I could find an affordable ($10-$15/roller) that met my quality expectations and came packaged nicely for retail sale, I would consider it.  Or if I could private label it.

which needle sizes do you typically use on face/body?

I realize this is an older post. But how do you sterilize the derma roller? I have an esty renting from me and she uses one and says it self cleans (?). I didn't know if we can use them in Calif.

I doubt that. Here is a place that sells them. Some have disposables rollers. Follow thw manufacturers instructions.

"Self cleaning" sounds INSANE and dangerous.  Since you are potentially liable and could be sued (she is in your space), I would insist on seeing her cleaning protocol.  Unless she is autoclaving it (and even then, iffy), she should be using a different roller on each person.  Now, it is possible to clean them adequately for using one roller multiple times ON THE SAME CLIENT, but using one roller on multiple clients is asking for trouble.
