I have to make this post at this time as the topic and what I present is beyond my comprehension and disgusting: So here it goes...

Image Skin care is launching what they call to be a new technology called "Vectorize Technology" and it is a trademarked name and not a patent on this technology, they could have called it anything they wanted (more on this later).

In this video: http://vimeo.com/90234590

Marc A Ronert MD PHD says "My roll is to make sure that we are the most innovative skin care company in the industry" There is nothing to take away from this man on his education, experience or dedication to his craft or the skin care industry.

He goes on to add: Vectorize TechnologyTM is a revolutionary technology that is so unique to Image Skin Care. It refers to an innovative delivering system..." Please watch the video to see his eyes move as he watches cue cards. If what he says is true and possible he would not need cue cards to remember what he and his team have accomplished for the world. ANd he would be in EVERY Derm medical journal and across the news and NOT doing VIMEO press release videos. Further more he would license the technology to the world and MAKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!

What he is referring to is a massive biological event and one that would, if possible be handled by global pharmaceutical companies that would patent NOT 'tm' a name for this bio-technological delivery system and sell it to the world. It would be FDA approved in the United States and the EU and Asia. Further more, if this technology were true and its deliver system was provable it would have far reaching effects on the skin care  and derm world.

EXAMPLE

The first product to gain FDA approval for its delivery was topical Rogaine and that product was designed by: "Rogaine is the brand name of a product developed by the Upjohn Company and is now owned by Johnson and Johnson."

How big was the UpJohn company?: The Upjohn Company in the United States and Pharmacia A. B. of Sweden said yesterday (1995) that they would join forces in a $13 billion deal aimed in part at selling drugs in huge quantities to H.M.O.'s and other organizations that buy medicines on behalf of tens of thousands of patients. The new company, to be named Pharmacia & Upjohn Inc., would become the world's ninth-largest pharmaceutical firm, with annual sales of nearly $7 billion. The merger is to be a friendly one, in contrast to other recent mergers of giant pharmaceutical companies.

Who owns Rogaine now?  Johnson & Johnson

How big is Johnson and Johnson?: Johnson & Johnson NYSE: JNJ - Apr 17 4:00 PM ET 98.96+0.21 (0.21%) Worth: 295 BILLION DOLLARS

TO MY POINT:

How did a little skin care company from Florida doing roughly 10 - 20 million a year ( I am guessing, I have no idea how much they do a year but its an educated guess based on what I know others of there size do a year) develop this technology? A house wife turned skin care professional and a plastic surgeon turned "Medical Director" accomplish this massive task?

Further more... If what they did is true then the lab that did it would not give this miracle to JUST Image Skin Care and to that point every skin care company and pharmaceutical company would want it and BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WOULD BE MADE.

Back to their Video:

The picture below shows how they say the active ingredients are encapsulated.  These ingredients have been the main stay of the skin care industry for decades.  The event of delivery into the skin has been tried every medically known way possible.  What they claim is impossible and the reason is that this IS the skin care industry and they can say it and trademark the name and as long as they stay away from specific language the FDA will not go after them and stop them for misleading the public.

IMAGE SKINCARE "IS" THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SKIN CARE MARKETING WITHIN THE INDUSTRY!

He goes on to discuss the following

He talks about these spheres acting like an onion encapsulating the active ingredients and thus becoming time released.  Time release technology has been a part of skin care and dermatology that big pharma has been after for DECADES and do to the skin's complex nature there is nothing that can claim this bio FACT!  And if I am wrong please tell me the product line and I will bet the farm it is owned by a BILLION dollar company and Image Skin Care just infringed on GLOBAL PATENTS.

In this picture you see the 48 hour time period

In his video he never says WHICH layer of the skin and how deep.  That is how this NEW technology avoids FDA regulation.  THEY WILL NEVER SAY.

Now if this NEW TECHNOLOGY is all that, why would Image Skincare keep it to themselves and make millions when they could license it to every skin care company on the planet and make BILLIONS. Don't you think FDA approved medical topical creams that are developed to fight major skin issues could use this technology?

Do you have any idea how much money it takes to get FDA approval on a topical cream.  The research.  The funding...let me just say it is in the neighborhood of 200 - 400 million dollars.

THIS IS A JOKE AND DISGUSTING.  AM I JEALOUS?  YES I AM.  I WISH I COULD LIE AND READ OFF OF CUE CARDS AND SELL MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF SKIN CARE TO PEOPLE AND SKIN CARE PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE TOO BUSY TO READ AND INVESTIGATE AND DO NOT KNOW THE INSIDE SCOOP ON THE SKIN CARE INDUSTRY.

WHAT WOULD I DO IF I COULD LIE AND READ OFF OF CUE CARDS LIKE THIS DR. DID? GO BY MYSELF A LAMBORGHINI IN FIVE DIFFERENT COLORS:  ONE FOR EACH DAY OF THE WEEK!

SO IMAGE SKINCARE AND DR. RONERT....

FIRST CHALLENGE:

I CHALLENGE IMAGE SKIN CARE TO DO A CLINICAL TRIAL WITH A MAJOR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY AND SELL THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY AND FURTHER MORE TO GAIN FDA APPROVAL AND A PATENT ON "VECTORIZE TECHNOLOGY" IF IT IS WHAT THEY SAY IT IS. IF YOU CAN DO IT YOU WILL MAKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS....

AND IF THAT CHALLENGE IS TOO BIG THEN THIS ONE:

I CHALLENGE IMAGE SCARE AND THE NEW VECTORIZE TECHNOLOGY TO AN INDEPENDENT STUDY AGAINST THE FOLLOWING SKIN CARE LINES:

(Acne - Anti Aging - Moisturizing - 30 - 15 Women / 15 Men - 6 months)

PCA

Dermalogica

Circadia

Peter Thomas Roth

Serene

Thank you for the reply and words.

I received a private email asking about getting into trouble from Image for this post.  I guess any body can bring a legal action against anybody for anything but:

If they did, they would do two things:

1. Make me famous.  If they brought legal action against me for this post it will hit every single blog and skin care professional who uses the line and make headlines. I think it would be a poor decision on there part.

2. Potentially expose themselves to the issues I present since they would have the burden to prove I slandered them and that is not the case.

In the end I am not the skin care police and posted this for new esties and new esties alone.  If more experienced esties appreciated it then that is great but aside from the forum I do not discuss this issue.  Why would?  The world is a big place and the skin care marketing machine is an unstoppable force.

I just read this post on the vectorize technology...............Dont many companies boast about an advanced delivery system?? & have a marketing "name" for it??   I know of another,  Pevonia has there trademark " spherulites" which is the  time released active ingredient,  like an onion layer release within the dermal layers.................same theory.   Pevonia is highly reputable & has had this technologies for years,  they even now promote the Micro Matrix delivery system for a 12 hr time release.

I am confused, Are you stating these technologies are not attainable for small companies, or they are not  possible  & cannot not deliver as stated?   Are all the companies who market a time release for many hours  fooling us & are a Joke too?? I don't get this............what im getting is that you do not believe these companies can time release ingredients within the dermal layers............its not possible to date????

#1. Dont many companies boast about an advanced delivery system?? & have a marketing "name" for it??

Yes, and in fact most do and here is why?  If I am trying to be different and unique and tell a story then I need something new and different.  What they will do as a manufacturer is 'make a name up', then trademark it.  To the public this looks like a patent but it is really nothing more then saying, "I am the only one that can use this name".  It also give the manufacturer the right to NOT disclose what it is in specifics and then THEY can market to this name and claim amazing results without FDA and other serious approvals and also apply fancy pictures.

#2 I know of another,  Pevonia has there trademark " spherulites" which is the  time released active ingredient,  like an onion layer release within the dermal layers.................same theory.

Yes this is the same theory unless this ingredient is from a lab.  I have not researched it so I am going to assume this is the same 'Naming' going on here.  I do not ever do this.  I think its a bad thing to do and takes away from the truth.

#3 Pevonia is highly reputable & has had this technologies for years,  they even now promote the Micro Matrix delivery system for a 12 hr time release.

OK.  They can do this just like Image can and more power to them but then this post would apply to them as well. Just think about it. What you are talking about or should I say 'They' are talking about is amazing stuff and it would not be available outside of huge Bio Pharma companies and or too expensive to work with. Its just big time stuff as it relates to the skin.  If you truly understand the skin you would see problems with this and too be honest most people do not thus opens the door to these sort of claims.

#4 I am confused, Are you stating these technologies are not attainable for small companies, or they are not possible  & cannot not deliver as stated?   Are all the companies who market a time release for many hours fooling us & are a Joke too?? I don't get this............what im getting is that you do not believe these companies can time release ingredients within the dermal layers............its not possible to date????

Look at it a different way. Labs will claim all sorts of things and sell ingredients and blah blah blah.  What you are asking is if a molecule can hold another molecule of an active ingredient and store it until 'SOMETHING' triggers an event that allows this molecule to release into the skin at a specific time or depth within the epidermis or dermis.  Right?  Lets say this was possible! Lets assume!  This would violate the law and this product would cross over to a drug and this company could not sell it under FDA law.  Its that simple.  Really this point is all I have to make and say.

With that said to pass FDA law this company would have had to spend 100's of millions and I doubt that this is occurring and also if they did they would sell it to the world and hold a patent on it for 25 years, make billions and certainly not waist there time selling you a specific ingredient within a bottle of $50 - $75 skin care cream.  Right?

Thank you Marty for taking the time to post this information. I am aware of all the hype with skin care lines and I also think this is false advertising and yes, lying to the consumer and practitioner. I am a newly licensed esthetician and I find the market to be saturated with false claims. I am working at a medical spa where I am do mainly botox injections, laser hair removal, accent/ radio frequency treatments - volume and tightening. We also have AFT and Pixel although I am not fully trained in that yet. I work there 3 days per week and I am about to start working at a friend's spa about one day a week so that I can do more skin care. The medical spa has no skin care line, long story, but that will not be happening anytime soon. My question for you is where can I get some good training on chemical peels? Although I love the medical side of esthetics and want to stay at this position, I am wanting to get going with some skin care treatments and the other place is my opportunity to do this. The spa where I will start has just bought a hydra facial machine. I know she also has Dermalogica. Please give me your advice on places to seek out training on chemical peels and good skin care lines to look into.
Thanks,

So you said a lot and appreciate your feedback. Its tough to tell you where to go and get trained for Facial Peels.  I have not seen any I like.  I train at a school in Canada and that is a 3 day hands on course.  Once you start the class through day three, you will probably do about 40 peels and that is all hands on so its tough for me to say.  The classes in the US are more lecture type and not so much hands on.  Like watching a live YouTube video.

I am sorry I cannot be much more help then this, since it is so tough to advise you without promoting myself. I really try not to do that here beyond what is signing my name.

But here is what I can say:  Find yourself a very low level peel like a 20 - 30% Glycolic Acid at about 3.0pH and a Fitz 3 practice model.  Study all the contraindications and neutralize the peel with Bio Film Cleanser from Serene and practice practice practice.  Peel her skin once a month for three months and then stay away for two months. Stay away from Fitz 1 and 2 and 5 and 6.  Do not go above a 4 and watch out for Fitz 3 with blue eyes. I hope this helps.  It is a broad stroke...

Questions let me know.  I have left hundreds... ;)

Image and Dermaquest have similar lines and come from the same lab. Image just buys the formulas like every other company from said chemist;)
