Check with your state to see if they have your hours on file. I know every state is different, but in my case, I began schooling in the late '80's. I was half way through the course, when the state closed the school down. There were no other schools in the area, and life got in the way, so I just gave up. Fast forward 12 years later......a new school opened in my area. I could not afford to take the entire class, plus was working, so I called the state. Lo and behold, they still had record of my completed hours and told me they were valid!! I only had to finish the remainder of my hours to be eligible to take my state boards!!

How did your stateboards go??
I'm so nevous and have so many questions.
Like how many questions were on the exam? Was it only multiple questions?
Are both written and practical on the same day? So many questions haha. I just want to be prepared when I get in there so I know what to expect.

I took my state boards about 14 years ago, but I do remember being horribly nervous!! The practical and written were on the same day. I passed the first time. Every state is different (I'm in WI), but I do believe our written was multiple choice and there were a lot of questions. You may want to talk to an esty in your state about what the experience is like. 

It wasn't as bad as I imagined it to be, so I really wasted a lot of energy being nervous. ;)

I posted on a discussion board in Massachusetts, no one has responded yet.
I do know an esthtician in my state but she took the boards like 25 years ago ha. So not sure it'll be the same.
