I live in Hawaii and I work in a dental office /Spa. We recently had a patient who fell on lava rocks and had to come in to repair some front teeth. Of course, she bruised and scraped her face at the same time and has scabs from her forehead down the bridge of her nose. She would like me to help her prevent scaring and I'm trying to figure out what to do. I've never had a trauma client like this. I use Pevonia Botanica and they have a product called Marine D.N.A Concentrate and Cream. It claims to help prevent scarring. I want to suggest that she use this, even maybe applying the concentrate on the scabs, (i'm not sure if this would help) but I want to know if anyone else has encountered this and if anyone has suggestions. I will wait of course until the bruising has gone down and the scabbing has gone away to do a skin treatment on her. I offer Microdermabrasion, IPL, Glycolic Peels, and DNA Concentrates with Galvanic Current in my practice. Should I incorporate any of these later on to help her? Or what do you think?

First and foremost she needs to keep her face out of the sun until the healing is complete.  The new healing method that I am aware of is not to let things scab over.  Keep them moist and protected with something such as Aquifor (sp?).  Once the healing has completed you can begin to treat her.  I wouldn't do any micro, IPL or peels on her for quite some time.  The new skin will be very tender.  Vit C and hyaluronic acid products would be good.  Hope this helps some.

Osmosis has a wonderful product called Stem Factor with human stem cells.  My husband deeply cut his finger and the healing is amazing with the help of this serum.  They also have a product called Catalyst that has many skin restoration ingredients.  AND this line is all natural.  I have been using the Osmosis products for several weeks, on myself, to test them out and have been truly amazed by this line.  I hope she heals well...Let us know what you do and how things progress!
