I have been a licensed esthetician for a year now; i do lots of brazilian's, but always feel that i want to learn more and better ways of doing things. I've heard that there are some great brazilian instruction video's out there that cost about $200. Can anyone make a recommendation?
I am also looking for the best last extensions training.
Thank you, Sophie Frost

Hi Sophie.
I read a suggestion from an experienced esthetician re. Brazilian training. Train with a pro (for instance: an esti who performs this service without complications in 15-30 min.s). Do the wax together: the pro first demonstrates, then you go. In this way the pro can comment and help you develop good habits. So you alternate, taking turns. I thought this sounded like a very sensible way to train.
Personally, I can't imagine completing a Brazilian (Brazilian complete) in 15 minutes. There are different ways estheticians approach this waxing. Some use all hard wax, some use soft wax/strips and then hard as you move into more sensitive areas (can speed up the process), some like to use sugaring on the mound area. Some use just soft wax/strips. You probably have a preferred system. Good luck!

thanks sally. i have had private instruction exactly like that for brazilians, but i have heard that there is this $200. special instruction video that shows some really different way to do it that people really love. not sure why it differs, but i'd like more information.
anyone out there know what this is??
cheers,
sophie
I ordered the Brazilian Wax training DVD and really improved my technique and timing. www.LearnWaxing.com Professional Skin.
the site changed www.wax-training.com. The wax link is also great for good prices on satin smooth wax.
Hi Sophie,
Well, that does sound interesting. Would love to know about ways that might be different and better, esp. if people are very positive about it. Can't quite think what could be the differences, but I'm interested.
Did you feel the private instruction was great for learning (assuming you had a great instructor)?
Sally
Yes, I was a little surprised - guess, I shouldn't necessarily be. He seemed very professional in the sample of the DVD I saw.
Sophie what are you looking for specifically?? Are you comfortable with your wax? Would you like to be faster? More consistent? Do you have your own style that you like? Even though I have trained many, many estys you eventually have to have your own technique and a wax that you are confident in.
