Hi there. The one product that I think really holds HG status is my Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I was able to get a little squeeze tube and a half-lentil size makes even the cheapest eye shadow last ALL DAY. I had read good things about Urban Decay's Primer Potion but the doe-foot applicator makes it a no-go for me.
Second to the TFSI is my Graftobian HD High-Definition Glamour Creme Palettes in Corrector Shades. There has not been a dark circle or blemish that I haven't been able to cover with this.
I have also had great success with my Dinair airbrush & makeup. A couple of brides, several formals and even a few editorial photo shoots. They all looked great with the Dinair. (I airbrush over the concealer palette.)
Can't wait to hear the other recommendations.
Julia
Hi Julia,
Thanks for the input. I've actually been wanting to try Too Faced' Shadow insurance for awhile now. I've heard good things and i have a bronzer from them that i love! I used Urban Decay's primer for a while, i really liked it (im a HUGE fan and junkie of Urban Decay) but ended up switching to Smashbox's Photo Finish primer because of the nice matte finish.
I just recently took a professional makeup class to get a certification and i got a Graftobian HD Corrector Creme Pallete in my kit, so far it has covered all my blemishes and dark spots also and so excited to see the other products they offer. I'm being trained in airbrush makeup but with Temptu...have you heard much about them? Ill have to look up Dinair, thanks for the info!
My understanding about Temptu as a professional product is that is great. I am not impressed with their retail airbrush (Sephora, etc) as the product is in a pod-style container. By using a gravity fed airbrush, I can customize foundation, mix in blush or bronzers if appropriate and change clients fast & easy. For me this is a very sanitary way to apply makeup to a group of people.
I believe Temptu has both water and silicone based products. Mine are water based. I felt like it was safer to spray a water-based product in someone's face. It also makes for much easier clean up. I would love to hear about your class!
This picture is of a makeup job I did. (I love this picture, I don't know if I am this good - the photog was AMAZING.)
(I would love UD if I didn't get crazy glitter fall-out from their shadows. I am 44 - glitter on my cheeks looks kind of silly.)
Yes, Im actually taking the airbrushing portion this saturday and its will be with the Professional TEMPTU system. Im recieving all the foundation, blush and highlighting colors along with the gun & compressor so I'm very excited to learn and be able to play with the machine, ive been in makeup for years but have never done airbrushing. Im currently a Airbrush technician for spray tans at the salon i work at, so im curious to see how similar it is and how easily ill adapt to it. I also recieved a Makeup Forever kit with the class which has been amazing. I'm very pleased with the class so far, reasonably priced, good equipment and its only a 3 day certification!
Thanks for the info on the water vs. silicone based airbrush makeup, ill have to look into the difference and what i will be getting with my kit. so far i have heard great things about TEMPTU so im happy that i will be recieveing their system.
and your picture is amazing! i really love the look of it, and the look you went with with the models, its very soft and i love emphazing lips! Great job! Thanks for sharing Julia!
