Anyone know what this is all about?? Are these products truly cosmeceuticals, and if so, why are they in the hands of unlicensed women? a 30% glycolic peel with no supervision/professional application seems a bit risky!!

I have a client who is being introduced to this line- and of course the inventor of this line is selling it from the premise of "you don't need to go to the esthetician anymore" even though at one time SHE was one!! grrrr.

I'd love feedback so I can intelligently educate my client.

Thanks!!

Well, 30% is usually the strength that non-physicians can use. That includes estheticians and the general public. Manufacturers of products estheticians use are sold directly to the public every day.

Do you retail a line that gives great results and is at a competitive price to TZone? Why is your client looking outside your busines for a product line? I recently went private label and am able to retail my products around the same prices as TZone are charging and make more proffit than with a "name" line. This gives me the flexibility to be competitive in this tight market.

I know it's frustrating but we have to constantly be competitive and give clients what they want. If you have a great product line try giving a free peel when they buy a certain dollar amount of product every month. That might be a draw for your client to stay with you and your products.

Sounds more like an esty buying professional and selling on the internet without consults/analysis.

I doubt she "invented" anything.

I am sure that she has some sort of liability insurance and most probably a TON of disclaimers with her "product".

This is what people do when money is more important to them than their professional ethics.

Curious...do you have the name and/or the name of the "business"?

oops - sorry - TZone IS the name of the business not just the product?

Apparently it is someone here in Cincinnati, OH.... it looks like it's become a direct sales company where anyone can sell it.  My new client isn't official yet- although she has booked a treatment with me... she's getting a lot of input from various ones and I think she is getting overwhelmed with info and the "right" way to go... apparently a couple of her friends were/are selling this line! so it's LIKE a professional line in the hands of the general public... I guess!

Yes, I retail Image that I believe is superior- plus it comes with ME! ;-) I compared some prices, and Image actually retails better price point wise on a lot of the products.

Then that's the way to approach it. Educate the client on your product, why you use it, what it will do for them, what your services will do for her, and that it comes with your knowldge, etc.

Be careful not to trash other products. I hate it when people try to make themselves look good by trashing the competition. Treat yoru clients, or potential clients, in a positive manner and as intelligent consumers and most people will respond in a positive manner.

Emphasise the professional services you perform and what you can do for her. Maybe offer a free peel during her first service with you. You have to be competitive with this product if they are moving into your area. Can you afford to offer a free peel with a facial to clients that buy XX number of dollars of your product every month?

You might look into "Visual Changes" as a possibility, I have used their peels for 12 years, and really like it, tho don't know about your area. They offer webinars almost every week at no charge to us.
