European Wax Center and the small business owner

I just read in the local paper here in the Portland Oregon area that a couple is opening up a European Wax Center near by and
Have plans on opening up 15 EWC's by the end of 2012!!! That seems like a lot! Have any of you here on this forum had any experience
With this company coming into your town, and how has it affected your business?

I myself, and a few of my clients have tried their services because they offer the first one for free. I had the worse experience there. I know that they train their girls for 5 days or more and they have a special wax that they say they use, but it was the worst wax I had ever received. My clients have not been happy with them either and they say that their packages are too expensive and can't wait to get out of the contract if they signed up. I wouldn't worry too much about them taking business from you.

Just perfect your technique and customer service skills. Get a great web site, ask for reviews from loyal clients.. Everything will be fine. After all, how well can one REALLY do a good BBW in 15 minutes? Pft'...
Do your own undercover intelligence and get a wax from them.

One was opened in Tucson, It was a big to do a few months back. I have not been affected in the slightest. I have actually had a few new clients from there come to me and told me they werent impressed and not all their hair was removed. I wouldnt worry about it. IF you have something like group-on or living social or soemthing like that I would do an ad with them the same time that other place opens.

I just went in to try a brazilian. It was weird and uncomfortable to me they have you get undressed with them in the room and i wad never covered or asked if i was comfortable or doing ok she never checked in with me at all! It was an ok wac but i won t go back! When i got there and left they tried really hard to sell me there packages. I think most peoplefor prefer a little more personal service and modesty!
