My year old towel cabi is broken and no one want to "fix" it, just sell me a new one. Does anyone use something else besides a cabi to heat towels like a microwave or a crock pot...with success of course. I don't want to spend another $250.00 and have it break in another year! Help...thanks.

I have a full size hot towel cabi that I bought from one of the US ebay sellers (Salon's R US I THINK) for $125.

Going on three years with that one.

But certainly - having worked at multiple locations I am comfortable with using crockpots - I keep one at my office for a back-up.

I usually dampen the towels with warm water and keep the setting on low. Use the full size Crock Pots - I think they are around 7 QT size (thereabouts), roll the towels up fairly tightly and you can get lots in there.

No Shame in using Crock Pots!

Here is the last one I got (on sale I am sure it was less than $25)

Microwaves are great for heating your towels quickly...it's just hard to KEEP them warm...although I did have to do this at one place I worked for a very short time.  I heated them just a little hotter than I wanted them rolled them tightly and put them in a heavy plastic bag - but you could probably use one of those insulated bags in a pinch.

WOW I was Just going to Post the question ' Give me your Best on Towel Cabbies' ........ I've been using a Crock pot for my first 3 years ....... works but I am sick of it, just not the same as a cabbie but a great back up!
