LOL - now that is getting up close and extremely personal :)

Not to mention painful...ouch.

Back away from that area and put the tweezers down PLEASE!!!

LOL!

I actually KNOW an esthetician that does this!

I MIGHT be tempted to use tweezers to free up an ingrown (but I doubt it).

So what do you suggest for a few hairs that might be left after waxing or little short hairs that won't come out with the wax?

You will never get 100% of the hair. There will be a certain amount, however small, that will either break or just get missed.  If there are hairs that you cannot get with wax as a clean up, then you just leave them until next time.  Setting client expectations is important.  If  the hair is short too begin with, let your client know that you may not be able to get all of them this time, but as they come in for regular visits, without shaving or trimming in between, there will be less and less that you are unable to get. Again, don't get obsessed with removing every single hair it's just not possible and is a waste of your time and uncomfortable for your client.    Hope this helps.

Thanks Crickett.  I'm just such a perfectionist and like to get it all!  I had one client complain even after I told her she had some hairs that were too short to get on that visit.  But it makes sense to set clients expectation from the beginning.

Yes!  Setting client expectations is a must.  When you tweeze you are setting theexpectation that says, "all hair should be removed, so I am not going to spend an extra 10+ minutes tweezing to make sure that they are all gone."  So now your 20-30 minute Brazilian takes 40-50 minutes.  Setting the right expectation upfront goes a long way.  Educate your client.  You will get those that think every hair should be removed , just let them know, that is unrealistic.  There will always be strays.

I would never do that! Oh how painful! I haven't had much of a problem with leaving hairs behind after a brazilian wax though, only a few clients that have come in soon after shaving... I try to let them know what to expect after I look them over and before I start waxing :-)
