Do any of you do spa parties to drum up business for your practice? If so, types of services have you offered and do you feel this is a good way to increase client numbers in your daily practice?

I have regularly scheduled spa parties every other month and I ask my skin care clients to bring a guest. We always do a mini facial on them (self applied with great home products) and then have various guest speakers as well as healthy refreshments. We vary topics of discussion and focus, depending on interests expressed, though what I desire is to spread the word about how the overall health of the body will always impact the performance and health of the skin. We had a family doctor speak on the concerns and health implications of Vitamin D and other nutrient deficiencies, how the health of the gut and digestion plays a significant role in the health of the skin, and we held a weight-loss lifestyle challenge for Spring slim down and also Winter Meltaway to name a few of our focused events. I feel our profession can play such a bit role in the wellness field by bringing up topics to educate. Next month I am holding a discussion at our public library in Brunswick, ME after viewing Hungry For Change. I would encourage other aestheticians to consider doing so as a public service.
