I have a client that's concerned about how her skin has aged over that past couple years, and the discoloration as well. She stated that this happen due to taking her medication over the past couple of years. Which I assumed the melasma happen due to a Hormone imbalance and the cause of certain medications. My question is which would be best to target first. The melasma, or aging. The product line I use is Rhonda Allison. I'm thinking melasma, then aging due to the fact that's something that will be a continuous thing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I forgot to add that it's not min lines, I would say phase two aging. I was thinking a peptide would be good to send home as home care.
Because Melasma is dermal and very hard to treat I would start with the aging. Until her hormones get in line she will have issues with the melasma. The one thing that works great for melasma is the medical version of Cosmelan. Occasionally Tri-luma worked but its not available anymore. And could only be used for short periods of time. There are other things out there that are similar. It is basically Retin-A, hydroquinone and hydrocortisone. Very strong but usually after a few weeks the skin is lighter and you can switch them to a kojic acid or something similar. I would get her on antioxidants and peptides, exfoliating with things like glycolic and retinol, and adding in growth factors and advanced ingredients that are going to make her skin better overall. This will all help to lighten her pigmentation. LED is a great add in as well, I agree. Microdermabrasions...
Try to take her mind off the melasma and let her know that you guys can lighten it but until her hormones balance out she will be dealing with the issue. Get her happy about how much her wrinkles are disappearing.
And always remind her to wear her sunscreen and reapply with a mineral powder 3-4 hours later to insure that the parts you lighten dont get dark again. The sun will bring it right back in one moment.
Hope this was helpful.
Brittnee, quick question. Why did you decide to stop using PCA? I carry it and am just wondering.
Thanks :)
