When I first started doing brows my fear was that I was going to take off their entire brow.  In the Brazilian area it was about hurting them.  What are your fears?

I too have the same problem as Deborah with the brows and was trained with soft wax. I've requested your dvd as a birthday gift, but that,s not until later this month.  What can I do in the mean time to improve my technique. I reallly want to master brows.

Such a great website- I need to look into getting some supplies from you

Crickett, I have a client that has dark skin and received a brazilian from me about 4 weeks ago. She came in today for another one and showed me an area that I had waxed and almost looks hyperpigmented? I've never heard of that, never have seen it happen, and she had other areas on her leg as well with hyperpigmentation (that I haven't touched). I doubt I caused it but then again could wax do that? She doesn't tan, she wasn't bruised when she left last time. Not sure what to do or think about this or know if it was even me. Any thoughts?
Now it's kind of a fear if it can really happen.

Hi Noura,  Darker skinned client's are more sensitive and more prone to scarring and hyperpigmentation.  Yes, a client can hyperpigment after waxing.  So many questions to ask.  Did you take note of any areas of hyperpigmentation on her first visit? Did the hyperigmenation on her legs recently appear or was it there before?   Are you using soft wax or hard wax in the Brazilian area?  Perhaps there was a bit of lifting in the area that you did not see at the time of waxing that caused post inflammatory hyperpigmentation to occur?  Your client may have tanned or exposed herself to the sun post waxing as well, this might be a contributing factor.   Don't be fearful, just be prepared.  I use hard wax exclusively in the Brazilian area because is it more gentle and less likely to cause adverse reactions to the client especially those more prone to hyperpigmentation and scarring.  IF this was something that happened post waxing, it is easy enough to take care of with exfoliation at home.  Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for your quick response! I use soft wax along the bikini line and hard wax as I work in. I will do more research and start taking more notes for my wax clients. And yeah it was post waxing, as she states, so I will have her exfoliate. I was definitely not aware this could happen! Thanks for your input.
