I am beginning to focus mainly on female Brazilian waxing and want to know:

1) What are clients looking for in a Brazilain? What would make them instantly refer their Esthetician to their friends/family?

2) How important is the Esthetician for a Brazilian? Can anyone do it successfully / those of you who do a lot of Brazilains, how big is your repeat client base?

4) For salon owners, what are the key traits you look for when hiring estheticians to do brazilains? How do you find the best ones? Is it hard to find talented Brazilian waxers?

5) Do the best Brazilain waxers booth rent, work for themselves or for salons?

Hi everyone, I am an Esthetician in San Diego, CA. For the past 11 years I have owned and operated a one treatment room skin care salon. My specialty is men's waxing/manscpaing and have built a very successful waxing business.

I have started consulting and training new and inexperienced Esthetician in intimate male waxing services. I do full salon/spa and 1-on-1 training. If this is something you'd like to learn more about please let me know.

Hello all - new to the forum!

I have been a licensed esthetician for eight years, and for the last two of those years I have been owner/operator of my own waxing studio. And I'm debating on whether or not to increase my service prices, aka give myself a raise. Rent has increased, product prices have increased, and my demand is greatly outweighing my ability to meet that demand.
And though my prices are comparable to spas in the area, I am the only shop in this area who only specializes in waxing, and I'd like to set the bar a bit higher because of that.

So I have two questions:

1) Has two years even been long enough to increase my prices?

2) How much should I increase each service? Most sources say 10% but that seems a bit high.

Thoughts, opinions, and advice are greatly appreciated!

I am trying to get away from using any chemicals in my practice and I am wondering if anyone could recommend some natural products for wax, wax remover, and skin prep. I've been playing around with various things at home but have yet to find anything I love.

Hello Everyone :)

I have a client that comes in regularly for brow and lip wax. She in her early 50's and her skin is VERY soft. I'm having problems waxing her, each time I spend more and more time tweezing then waxing. A lot of the hair remains after the wax, I've also noticed that the wax sometimes has difficulty adhering to the skin at the end where I want to lift it. I use Ciripel Blue and I cleanse before with their pre-lotion and I dry the areas with a dry cotton round, I even…

I don't understand why I'm having such a hard time with this client, I don't have this problem with other clients.

Anyone have any insight on this? Your help is appreciated, I'm at a loss! :(

Hello everyone. I am beginning my career in esthetics by moving to Costa Rica. I will be offering waxing and am concerned that humidity may affect the wax. I currently live in a very arid climate and do not have experience in dealing with humidity. Does anyone have any tips or product recommendations? I currently use Cirepil Blue.

Thanks so much in advance!
