LOL gotta love waxing stories.  I do my own brows, lip and bikini (with hard wax...Berins) and haven't had problems in those areas, but I tried to do my own underarms with soft wax...big mistake.  Of course I was trying to see why people recommend the hard wax for the underarms vs the soft.  Well the soft wax was horribly painful in that area and left me with a gigantic purple bruise.  So now I know :)

I don't know about anyone else, but when I got out of school I thought I should wax everything. Sooo, I started with who else? Me....  I was going to do a Brazilian. After my shop closed I went into my room and proceeded to apply wax to the specified area, the whole thing, and of course I was not able to quite get the right angle. Leaning on my table and the other leg propped up on my counter I proceeded to pull off wax.... The nice soft tissue between your legs at the panty line immediately welted up and bruised an awful color of purple.  It was easily 3/4 of an inch by 1 1/2 inches in size. I had tears running down my face and was laughing so hard at the same time that I thought I was going to wet myself.  The terrible thing was I could not stop, I still had wax on the rest of the area..... To this day, 13 yrs. later, I still do not wax that part myself.

Wax on... Skin OFF!?! So we assume that we will always check the temp of the wax for our clients right? Yes. Most of the time anyhow. Well one day I was in a rush and needed to wax my own brows. I had just come in to the office right after showering and stirred the wax. Seemed ok by consistency... I was wrong. My skin was still soft from my shower (I live close to my office) and the wax a bit hot since it had not been opened for a few hours. Needless to say; the next day while visiting a friend... a few hours into it, I asked if she notice my nice brows ;) She said oh yeah, I thought it was some kind of eye shadow. lol! I had burnt my brows :( Nice job Esto!! Haha... won't do that again! Especially to a client!!
