I would go with the Vital C kit as it is the best for rosacea prone skin. I personally charge $25 for the full kit or $12 for the small normal/dry kit. The Vital C kits fly off my shelves! Also, eventually some ageless products may be incorporated in her routine after trying the kit first, but I would start the vital c products in the beginning as there is less irritation with them. Good luck!
  • Gina Williamson

    great thanks.

    that's awesome about the kits!

I received my info packet today and am looking it all over... talked to my rep today... I'm trying to decide how to best "jump in". I definitely want to get some training first... so I need to sort of cool my jets until I do.

But looking at the packages- I am tempted to do the "Bronze"- only it's a good bit of retail. I am in a TEENSY tiny room with not much room for retail.... Would I be better off just putting together my own package and investing in the trial kits vs. full-size retail?

And if I do that- what back bar is a "must"??

    Thanks!!

Paula:  I worked for an African American Dermatologist in Virginia Beach.  And we used Image Skincare.  I used all the lines with African American.  The best approach is to follow all your guidelines and contraindications as you would normally.  The proper procedure is to pre-treat the skin best for 4-6 weeks with lightening programs.  Which include ageless cleanser, lightening serum, and for sure  Daily Defense Moisturizer (SPF). Or incorporate Total Skin Bleaching Serum for the more severe pigmented types.  What area are you from?  Do you know your Image Eduactor?  Contact your local Territory Manager and Educator.  She is your lifeline!  She will answer all your questions more specifically.  But in short!  Yes I love Ageless for African Americans or any ethnic skin as long as it makes sense based on skin type and condition you are treating.  Good Luck

Madeleine:  Yes our back bar of professional items are Specifically our Peels and our Enhancers.  Other than than that you can purchase many of our products in BackBar Sizes but they are the same as our Retail.  This is fantastic as it really helps you in the tX room when applying product you can actually educate how to use, why to use etc.  What a perfect scenario.  Contact your local Rep in your area - or call our corporate office and they can assist you as well.

How does the mandatory post-peel kit work? is that price worked into the price of the peel?
  • Gina Williamson

Question about the medicated acne masque- I am trying out the trial kits that came in my info packet... the sample labeled "medicated acne masque" is gritty, like it has a physical exfoliant in it.

is that what it feels like? or did I somehow end up with the medicated acne facial scrub in there instead?

    thanks! :-)

  • Erin Daughhetee

Gina, I do not add the post-peel kit into my peel price, but you can choose to do that if you would like. I just make sure that my client is aware that it is required and I have never had any problems with that.

The acne masque is a bit gritty, it is not made to be smooth or to feel like a moisturizer. On myself, I have added a small amount of water to it when I apply it like a spot treatment because it does have a tendancy to dry out after you have opened that small sample. I use it as a spot treatment and it is amazing at reducing any inflammation and redness. Hope this helps! What do you think of the other samples?

  • Gina Williamson

Thanks Erin! How much do you charge for the post- peel kit?
I am loving the sample! Clear Cell revolutionized my pores in 1 day!! They disappeared- for real- and I have always had trouble with enlarged, congested pores.
    Trying out Ageless now.
  • Gina Williamson

which cleanser is best for eye makeup removal?
  • Erin Daughhetee

I like the Vital C for that because it is more gentle, just let it sit on the skin for a short while so it can fully remove it.
  • Deanna Wickey

Erin - yes I will b e in Chicago.  BTW - here is where it is being held.  Hope to see More Missouri representation there.  As time goes on I hear more and more about how Missouri has nothing - well now is the opportunity to get some great education and see what is really going on in skin technology and science.  Really for only $49.00?  See you there.

  • Gina Williamson

I just got my order- set up my products in my room- and am now trying to get a handle on the protocols...

I did a package, so the backbar only fits the Signature Facial (and peels). Is the Signature Facial good for all skin types?

  • Erin Daughhetee

Gina, the signature facial is good for most, except for oily/acne skin types. You would do the acne facial for someone that falls into that category.
  • Melinda Walsh

Finally tried the Perfection Lift Peel on myself yesterday, so far so good, it seems like it's going to be a really great (and fairly strong) peel.
  • Beth

Melinda, please keep us posted on how much you peel!  I will be doing this on my regular "guinea pig" client Thursday.  I am anxious to see what type of peeling this will yield.
  • Melinda Walsh

Beth, I'm on day 3 and peeling quite a bit, the great thing is that it is peeling everywhere, very evenly.  So far no scabbing or "rug burns". I have been following the protocol and using Max creme @ night and the enzyme mask in the morn. So far so good!
  • Gina Williamson

had a GREAT day with my first consult since setting up w/Image... sold over $100 in products!! yay!!

What would be the best recommendation for home product to help eliminate "scowl lines" between the eyebrows??  I was thinking the Retinol-A creme.... any other ideas??

  • Beth

Thanks Melinda, great to hear about the peeling.  Did you do three layers?

  • Gina Williamson

I have been using Image now for about 3+ weeks and LOVE it and have had great results. But now all of a sudden my skin is breaking out. I have oily, acne-prone skin. The only thing I have changed is I used the Vital-C cleanser for a few days. Is this possible??
  • Gina Williamson

p.s. I also used a tinted moisturizer type foundation (NOT Image) one day (not my usual product- I was trying it out) and my skin broke out right after that.... hmmm.....

Regaining ground thanks to Clear Cell!! :-P

  • Melinda Walsh

I think it is possible that the C Cleanser made you break out. Anyone can have a sensitivity. The Max Creme and Vital C Creme both make me break out.
  • Gina Williamson

Thanks Melinda. I wish I knew for sure... b/c I really liked using it!! LOL it's so creamy and smells soooo delish!

oh well- back to Clear Cell for me! ;-) I can use it as an eye-makeup remover.

  • Gina Williamson

AHH! I feel like I have a good handle on the line and know what to recommend- and then I suddenly feel like I don't know what I'm doing or talking about!! does anyone else get flustered with certain skin types?? I have been running into a LOT of dryness lately. Clients are dry/dehydrated- but pigmented/aging. So I go back and forth in my head between Ageless, Vital-C, and Ormedic..... any input on how you handle clients with multiple issues?
  • Tara Carson

I am currently working on placing my first Image Skincare order :-) Can anyone recommend their favorite Peel Resurfacing Solution? I want to purchase one (maybe two) to begin with to test, but I am not sure which one to start with. I know the Vitamin C/Enzyme is the most universal, but is it effective? Thanks for your feedback!
  • Gina Williamson

oh yes, Tara! and it is the first peel newtimers should start with too. it's a GREAT peel- gentle but gives excellent results w/no downtime. clients love it! be sure you have all the products for the steps involved. it's a 4-layer peel.
  • Tara Carson

    Thanks so much Gina!
  • Jessica Lockard

    Gina,
I'm a new esty that just went out on her own with image products. I love them. Since I'm still learning the line I had my amazing rep set up my regime for me. I have all those concerns you are getting flustered on. I do am. Ageless cleanse, lightening serum, universal spf---- pm. Vit. C. Lightening serum then ormedic peptide creme. Love the results. I also just started adding max eye creme. Hope this helps.
  • Gina Williamson

Thank you Jessica! I just finished emailing back and forth with my rep and we came up with:

AM/PM cleanse- Vital C (although I will probably suggest the Ageless too for AM)

AM/PM serum- Total Bleaching Serum + 1-2 drops ACE Serum

AM Protect- Ultimate w/1-2 drops ACE if she needs more hydration

PM- she can do more ACE if she needs more hydration.

I think she's going to do the Lightening Lift series too.

    Any input on this?

  • Jessica Lockard

I agree with the am ageless cleanse. I am new to the line so I don't have a lot of experience yet. I Just had my first perfection peel and LOVE it!!!!I heard its an updated Jessner??Going to go to level 2 next time. I don't have any experience with the bleaching serum just yet..sorry..I think this particular group is really great for questions and concerns!
  • Joanne Charron

I'm going to the IECSC spa convention in Ft Lauderdale this sunday the16th and I am looking forward to learning about this product line...I am on the hunt for an eye treatment for dark circles.
  • Diane Feeney

Joanne, do you live in the PBC area?  I'm also attending the show both days.  You'll love Image skincare.  I started using Image not all that long ago and I'm very happy with their txs and homecare.  Dark circles is always a tough issue to address.  I felt that the Total Eye Lift cream from the Ageless line has helped myself a little where that is concerned, although it doesn't mean it'll do the same for someone else.  If anyone else has had luck with that, please share.

@Gina, thanks for the protocol info.  I haven't used ACE serum that much and never thought to use it with the bleaching serum.  I had a new client in yesterday who had acne in the past (still has acne scars on her cheeks), comedones and some milia.  Her skin was slightly rough, but no visible signs of being oily or surface dry.  She smokes, but is trying to quit and does have hormonal issues.  I was a little stumped on what would be her best choice for homecare.  My thoughts were the Ormedic line (which I don't have any experience with as far as homecare and what the results are from other people or the Ageless cleanser, scrub & serum w/SCT and matte sunblock.  If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

  • Joanne Charron

Diane, I live in brevard county by the beach...not sure where PBC is...Palm Beach county? I'll be at the Hard Rock Saturday night with another fellow esty if you are in town...if you would like to meet up let me know...the more the merrier!
  • Erin Daughhetee

Gina, normally when I have clients that are dry/dehydrated and have pigmentation, I mix the vital c products with the ageless products. Something like the Vital C Cleanser, a lightening serum depending on their level of pigmentation, the hydrating or tinted daily defense and either the max cream or the vital c repair creme. It definitely takes time to figure out the best products for each different concern, but trust me, you'll get the hang of it. If you have to, keep out your cheat sheets somewhere in your room so you can reference them when you are not sure. Hope this helps!
  • Erin Daughhetee

Tara, the enzyme peel is a must for everyone. It is a wonderful starter peel and very popular. If you were to have more than one, my next suggestion would be the wrinkle lift or the lightening lift depending on your clients main concerns. The wrinkle lift is very popular for me and probably the most requested. Check out Image's peel webinars sometime, they have a lot of information and you can get a discount on your order that day at the end of the presentation.
  • Erin Daughhetee

Joanne, you would love the new MAX Eye Cream!
  • jackie mozingo

Hi everyone, I am new to Image as well. Just started doing the Signature Facials but want to start doing the level 1 peels, It states that they must sign the consent form and they need to pre peel 1 week before the first treatment. So do you give them samples to use before the first peel or what is your protocol for that.  Also would love for some veterans to throw out some skin disorders and us newbies (aka) myself to try and figure out what to use. The reps are great too but sometimes just like to hear from other Etsys  with hands on experience everyday seeing results. Thanks all.
  • Danielle George

Here is what I did for the Level I Acid Peels: If they just came in for a facial and indicated that they wanted to do an acid peel, I would let them know that they had to prep their skin before, so that day, I would do a peel with the vitamin c/enzyme. I would determine their fitzpatrick type and use that as my guide as to how long they needed to prep skin (higher fitzpatrick=longer prep time) I required them to purchase Total Anti Aging Serum SCT, Bleaching Serum, Total Retinol A Creme OR Total Repair Creme, Hydrating Repair Creme and an SPF. These would also be the products they would use during the peel series. Then we scheduled the first peel after they prepped for 2-4 weeks. I just made the decision that I was no longer going to put acid on people's skin who would not be compliant or use my products. It's too much of a gamble. I was doing lightening lift peels on a co worker who used Benzoyl Peroxide to spot treat and I didn't know about it. She had a big raw spot after the peel and then it scabbed. I got tired of people asking me to do this for them and then not cooperating because no matter what they put on their skin at home, if you do an acid and something happens-it's YOU they hold responsible. I found that when I required people to prep and purchase the skincare and purchase a series of peels- nobody wanted to do it. I've taken the acids off my menu. Unfortunately, my clientel seems to want a one shot fix, no commitment and they say they want to peel but then when they have peeling they complain :( I do have all my paperwork with peel prep and peel treatment plans if anyone is interested I will email to you.
  • jackie mozingo

wow Danielle, sorry to hear that. I have all level ones on my menu without prices or able to book. I too will make them pre peel and buy the products to be compliant. But you are correct, everyone wants to fix the problem that took years for wrinkle/sun damage to show up. I would love your protocals if you could email them to me, that would be great. It is jackiesskinbeautiful@gmail.com

    Thanks again.

  • Melinda Walsh

Hi, this comment is for Diane. For your comedone/ex-smoker, you didn't mention anything about sensitivity. If she is not particulary sensitive think about the Ageless line. The ageless cleanser and the Total Repair Creme are excellent for those adults with oily or a little acne skin. Even the Total anti-aging serum can be great for adults with acne, not as drying as the clear cell line.  Now, I may mix in the Vital C anti-aging serum or the Ormedic Bio peptide creme, be careful with the Vital C Cream, I think it's not a good choice for anyone prone to breakouts. Of course, these are my opinions but I specialize in acne and I have been pretty successful with these options. Let me know what you think!
  • Melinda Walsh

Danielle I was wondering if you work in a Salon? Spa? Home? If a client gets a scab I don't think it's that out of the ordinary. Just make sure she covers it with Aquaphor at night and does NOT pick it!  I think you should still do peels! Don't give up. You just have to make perfectly clear that peeling and scabs can happen. I think if you stop doing peels you can't help your clients improve their skin enough. Hang in there and I'm sorry for those clients with unreasonable expectations. It's up to us to teach them!

  • Danielle George

Melinda, I work in a hair salon. There are 6 hairstylists, 2 nail techs and me! I have a private room in the back of the salon. I do feel most of the time that I am swimming upstream in this environment! I handle my business in a professional manner- have consent forms for everything- and alot of clients look at me like I'm crazy! I know that the outcome lies with me- educating people and teaching them the benefits. In my experience here, people aren't receptive to coming in multiple times or being on a program. The only thing I can think of is to try and change my presentation...I'm not one to tell people what they "should": be doing. I just present the info and benefits and let them decide! I would like to be more persuasive!
  • Melinda Walsh

Well, just remember YOU are the expert, so make sure you remember that..but that being said, it very well could be the environment. Maybe you are right to emphasize waxing and more pampering treatments.  I worked at at Doctors office and now out of my home. I recently worked at a spa and encountered what you have found. It was much harder to sell products and deeper peels. Any other spa or salon people in this group? What do you guys think, any advice for Danielle?
