I am so looking forward to the workshop September 15, 2013!!!!!

  • Tara Borders Dollar

Is there anywhere that says if the serums have a negative or positive polarity? I just got my facial machine and I am wondering if I could use the galvanic roller to help push the serums into the skin.

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Tara - absolutely you can use the Ageless Skin Hydrating Serum and the Vitamin C with galvanic.  They have a lower pH and are considered acidic and they have a positive polarity.

  • Tara Borders Dollar

    Perfect! Thanks so much Lisa!
  • Margaret Christophersen

Hi Lisa.  I had a new (19 year old) client in today for a facial.  She is a Fitz 1, has redness, some inflamed acne and lots of bumps under the skin.  She is also taking Epiduo (adapalene and benzoyl peroxide) for the acne.  Would it be okay to use the coconut enzyme on her while on the Epiduo?

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Margaret:  Yes, you could use either the Coconut or the Raspberry Peach.  If you are concerned, spot test either on the wrist or behind the ear for at least 5 minutes and look for any reactions.  If the skin begins to turn red or pink, I would not proceed.  If there is no reaction, I would proceed without steam.

  • Margaret Christophersen

    Thank you Lisa!!

  • Shelley Hancock

Hey Lisa....really looking forward to seeing you and your crew at the Face and Body San Jose today! We're got 29 wonderful Estys registered to stop by at 7pm this evening at the Marriott lobby to meet you, Lori Crete and myself, up close and personal. It's gonna be an awesome day!!

  • Jamie Carson Ortiz

I'm looking for an Esty in Austin TX that uses Skin Script.
  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Jamie - I'll e-mail you directly with a few names and telephone numbers.  Otherwise, if you go to www.skinscriptrx.com and click on the retailers tab, you can enter a zip code and find the nearest aesthetician.  Thanks!

  • Melissa Bradley

Lisa, how does an Esty get listed on your website as a retailer?
  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Melissa:  To become a retailer listed on our website, please e-mail Candace at marketing@skinscriptrx.com and request to be listed.  Thanks!

  • Nicole

Lisa, what is the shelf life on the peels?  I'm thinking about ordering the larger sizes next time.

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Nicole:  The enzymes have a shelf life of 1 year (except the Lemon Zest which is 2-3 months) and the peels, such as glycolic, lactic, TCA, Cranberry Turnover Peel (20% salicylic), are also at least 1 year, but usually much longer.

  • Sheila Gordon

What happens when they expire?  Will they just not work or do they start to smell off?  I was just curious.  Thanks

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Sheila:  I have had peels that have lasted for years; they start to smell odd after a few years, but were still effective.  If you have something sitting around your office that long, its time to use them up or throw them away.

  • Tara Borders Dollar

Lisa, I asked before what serums could be used with galvanic for iontophoresis...Would the seaweed gel mask work as well for extra glide with the roller on top of the serums?

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Tara - I haven't used the roller so I'm not sure.  Has anyone else used the roller with the Seaweed Mask?

  • Tara Borders Dollar

Would the Spiced Cider facial be ok for a nursing mother? She absolutely adores anything fall and is only in my area for 2 days. I told her I wasn't positive if it was completely safe due to the malic acid. If its not I was thinking of still using the autumn spice mask with either the rasp/peach or coco/papya enzyme.

  • Lisa VanBockern

    Hi Tara:

The Apple Orchard Enzyme only has .5% of malic acid and its naturally-occuring malic from the apples, so its my feeling it would be safe.  However, safety first!  So if you are not comfortable using it, then yes, you can use the autumn spice mask with the rasp/peach or the coconut enzyme like you mentioned below.

Lisa - are these new products??

  • Lisa VanBockern

    Hi Christine:

Yes, these are limited-edition products.  You should have received an e-mail newsletter (I just confirmed you are subscribed to our list) announcing these products.  I will re-send the e-mail shortly to the e-mail on file for you.  If you don't receive the e-mail soon, please e-mail me directly at lisa@skinscriptrx.com.

    Thanks!

  • Joanne Charron

I used the pumpkin enzyme on myself saturday an i used it straight ...no cheesecake mixture...i wanted to feel it on myself before using it on my client.
It took off quite a few layers during facial and now two days later i am peeling like crazy....i had no idea it was such a strong peel....cant wait to see what my skin looks like next week
  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Joanne:  Yes, the pumpkin is our strongest enyzme.  Most people flake from it.  That's why we say to mix it with the Goji Berry mask to dilute the effect.  I hope you love the peel!

  • Willie Acklin

I forget, Can I use the retinol scrub under the coconut/papaya enzyme on a pregnant lady?

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Willie - I would prefer that you don't use retinol or acids on a pregnant woman.  Just fruit enzymes, such as Coconut or Raspberry, or the Apple Orchard that we currently have out.  Thanks!

  • Willie Acklin

Thanks, that what I figured. feel so helpless helping her with her skin especially since she's getting married very soon too. Back to manual extractions

  • Sheila Gordon

Lisa, I doubt that you have but did you by chance change the way you shipped?  My last order came in three days which isn't an issue and this one I ordered last week and shipped Wed isn't coming until Tues Oct 1.  Not that I want you to look into anything, but curious if something changed or have you had any issues with shipping this last week?

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Sheila:  We ship either US Priority Mail (which is 3 days) or UPS (which is 5 days) depending on the weight.  These shipping days reflect an east coast delivery.  We only charge a flat $5 for shipping, so we choose the least expensive method for shipping and notify you via e-mail with a tracking number.  Smaller orders under 2 lbs and under usually go US Priority Mail, but anything over 3 lbs on the east coast generally go UPS.  Have a great weekend!

  • Willie Acklin

Lisa, I'm having an issue with the previous client from last month who has bubbling from the lemon zest. This time I tried I askedomethinga bit different. I decided to go with the retinol scrub topped with the coconut/papaya enzyme with stream and removed with the ultrasonic spatula, then extractions, followed by vit. c serum & then hydrating serum. After that I used the goji berry mask.
she emailed me this evening, "Hi Willie,
Just FYI, my face bubbled up a little bit again.  Not all like last time though.  I am thinking I might need a different product line."
I'm both troubled and baffled. I did three facials this past Friday and she was the only that has had any issue like this. I asked her to send pics. feeling frustrated.
  • Lisa VanBockern

    Hi Willie:

I'm out of town right now, but I could try to call you tomorrow.  I'm not sure why she's reacting since you changed the products.  I will say that adding the retinol scrub under steam can create a mini Vitamin A peel effect.  She might peel from this.  I think you mentioned on the last treatment with the Lemon Zest that you had boosted it with lactic.  My first thought is that you might be going too aggressive with this client.  Some people receive great benefit from enzymes alone and don't need the acceleration you are mentioning; the adding of lactic or retinol to a treatment is for more resilient skin, when needed.  Do you explain to your client that flaking can be expected when you accelerate the treatment?  I don't mean to put you on the spot here, so we can talk on the phone tomorrow.  Reassure her that she will be okay and that no trauma to the skin will result.

  • Willie Acklin

The last time was only the enzyme. Also she said she didn't peel after the last time and that the bubbling eventually went away.
  • Sheila Gordon

Where is she bubbling?  Almost wonder if it could be herpes virus or something?  Just a thought.

    Thanks for the info Lisa!!

  • Willie Acklin

It keeps happening around the eye area. I use cotton rounds saturated with water/Rose water. The enzyme is near the area of the pads but I remove everything with the spatula and then with a towel including removing the rounds.

  • Willie Acklin

I think the culprit is Differin. She is using it 3x a week and putting it all over her face.

  • Willie Acklin

Can you spot treat pigmentation with SS TCA? I personally have a stubborn pih that won't go away. I've done one tca peel all over but still dark.

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Willie - yes, I spot treat all the time with the TCA.  However, the Glycolic/Retinol pads should be used twice a day on that spot at home.  Dip a q-tip into the pads and apply twice a day.  I think that will lift it.

  • Cheryl Bruss

Hi Lisa now if I were to spot treat HP with TCA in treatment room would My client start spot treating that HP right away at home or wait  a few days Thanks I know when we do the whole face they stop using all exfolaiting products at home for 4-5 days

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Cheryl:  I think it depends on how much TCA you apply.  If you apply 3-4 layers, then yes, I would have them discontinue any exfoliants.  You might call them 3-4 days after the treatment to see how their skin is responding and adjust the glycolic/retinol pads based on their response.  I want to keep the lighteners on the skin without causing too much irritation.

  • Willie Acklin

    Thanks Lisa!

  • Angela Brill

    Hi Lisa:

I have a client who has very bad hormonal acne.  They do not come to a head (most anyways) she is mostly broke out along the jawline but her overall skin is very red blotchy uneven etc.  She is going to do some peels but would like to get on a good homecare program(Yea).  Can I provide her samples or what would your recomend.  I feel like her skin is very dry she has been using a glycolic/saly cleanser daily so I think she needs to alternate that out also possibly some hydrating serum?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Lisa VanBockern

    Hi Angela:

How old is the client?  With the dry skin, it could either be mature skin, or just over-dried skin.  If she's 20+ yrs old, I would lean towards Pomegranate Creamy Cleanser, Glycolic Cleanser and Retinol Scrub used 3 times a week, Cucumber Toner, Ageless Hydrating Serum, Blemish Spot Treatment, Ageless Moisturizer and SPF.  If she is under 20 yrs old, I would use the Blemish Cleanser with the Cucumber Toner, Blemish Spot Treatment on the active breakouts and moisturizer/spf.

I would treat the overall skin gently with Coconut Enzyme and then spot treat the jaw line with Cranberry Turnover 20% salicylic.  I would see her every 10 days to keep on top of it.

    Thoughts?

  • Cynthia

hello, I am new to the line have done a few webinars and will be attending the Long Beach class in November. I would like to try some products on myself fisrt to get a fell of them. Which products /enzymes would you perfer to start with ? My skn is oily/acne prone slighy senstive, especially acne or drying products

  • Lisa VanBockern

Hi Cynthia:  We look forward to meeting you in Long Beach!  You will learn about each product, touch/feel them, and see demonstrations at the training.  If you are VERY sensitive then I would start with the Coconut Enzyme and move into the Blueberry Enzyme.  The Coconut is our mildest.  Our Blueberry has 1% glycolic/1% salicylic (yet is still tingly) and very effective on mild acne.  For homecare I would suggest Green Tea Cleanser, Retinol Scrub used gently 3 times per week, Cucumber Toner, Light Aloe Moisturizer.

  • Angela Brill

Lisa client is in late 30s and I will recommend the homecare to her. Thanks!!
  • Amber

Hi Lisa, I was wondering if you had thought about adding a window along the side of the retail products (the ones in the pumps). Biggest and only complaint with the line is that we don't know how much more product is left in the bottle.
  • Willie Acklin

    Hi Lisa,

Will there ever be travel companion kits like the larger sized ones? Biggest thing for clients here is that its hard to swallow the $150ish -$200 large kit and you can't travel with it. I have a great deal of clients who travel and the biggest thing for them is convenience.

    Thanks

  • Lisa VanBockern

Wow!  Lots of packaging requests today.  I've heard your requests; maybe one day soon we can accommodate these.

  • Leigh Cathy

    Hi Lisa,

I had a client come in for a Mini Facial this week and she has had a reaction, she says her Doctor equated it to a chemical burn. I'm of course concerned and want to make sure this never happens again, but out of the product used, I just don't see anything that she could have reacted to unless she didn't tell me everything she was using at home etc. Hoping you can offer some insight? I started with the Pomegrante cleanser, then the Glycolic cleanser, Retional Scrub, Cucumber toner, Hydrating serum under the Yogurt Mask, once I removed mask I used a little eye serum under her eyes and finished the rest of her face with the Peptide Moisturtizer. She says she is not allergic to anything and that she is not using Retinols or Glycolics at home, so I'm lost?

  • Lisa VanBockern

Leigh:  There's nothing below that could cause a burn.  I don't have your telephone number on file.  Could you call me at 480-543-1121 and we could discuss the client's history (medical, prescriptions, etc.) and maybe we can get to the bottom of it?
