Lisa, and/or anyone else who'd like to comment- can I use Shelley's LED mask after the cranberry peel? I have yet to use the cranberry peel and I'm new to using LED, is it ok to use after most peels in general?
Hi Melissa - I think that would be great after you remove the Cranberry Peel (20% salicylic). I think the LED would help with inflammation and bacteria.
I know Shelley uses the LED with the TCA still on the skin (since that peel stays on the skin for at least 8 hours).
Good morning ladies. I'm new to SS and love this board! I have a client who just finished her 3rd glycolic peel. We are looking to address acne scarring, wrinkles & texture. What is the best approach to this? At home she's using green tea & glycolic cleanser, ageless moisturizer & ageless serum. I'm sure I should add glycolic pads & retinol scrub?
Also, with summer on it's way, i'm concerned about chemical peels. Does anyone have a maintenance plan for summer using the enzymes?
Good morning Marie: Here's my opinion: Keep going with the glycolic peels, adding in a light microderm, or a layer of TCA if you feel you need it. I love the glycolic peels in a series of 6, one week apart. You mentioned that she finished her 3rd peel. She should see her best results in treatments 4-6 (remember that average cell turnover is 28 days, or 4 weeks). Add the glycolic pads if you need to work on pigmentation.
For maintenance, I like a monthly facial with Lemon Zest or Pomegranate enzyme (as long as they don't have too much sun exposure, such as golfing, boating, etc.)
Hi Lisa, I have the dermafile. Would you peel first or dermafile first? I'd like to add in the TCA. I have your protocol for the Alpha Beta peel, what do you think about that as an option? What do you say your TCA peels address? If I read the protocols correctly, are you mostly using TCA for melasma/hyperpigment or addressing scarring as well?
I don't have the ability to attach materials here, so I am going to e-mail you directly ideas for "order of exfoliation" when it comes to peel first or dermafile first.
The TCA is specifically for pigmentation, but its a nice addition to the glycolic peel when you want it stronger (glycolic first, light dermafile, then 2 layers of TCA).
Lisa,
Will there ever be a backbar size for the Sheer Protection SPF? It's that one product that gets used for every service and I go through it like crazy ;)
Hi Tara: I've got it on the wish list. I need to sell ALOT of that product before I make it into a backbar size and I know everyone has their favorite brands/textures on sunblocks, so that isn't sold in huge quantity. Therefore, I keep one size and keep it fresh and rotating.
I definitely know the request is there for the larger size with a pump.
Robin: Thank you so much for the nice compliment! Now when you listen to the webinars you will be able to follow along page by page. For everyone else that is curious, the training manual is $10, or you can request it for free when you order $100 or more.
I'm signing up for the Fort Lauderdale workshop May 4. I'm so excited about this!!! Anyone here attending? Should I bring my training manual? I have soooo many questions, so Lisa get ready for the annoying me! :P
Great! You better sit in the front row! You can bring your existing training manual so you can make more notes, but you can also receive another one at the training if you need it. See you in May.
Why didn't I do this before?! I always use my Glycolic wash, rinse, and then use my retinol scrub. This morning I decided to leave the wash on and use the scrub on top of it. Holy Toledo my skin felt amazing! And looked extremely fresh to boot!
Great idea! There are so many ways to use the glycolic cleanser and the retinol scrub, but you just used it my favorite way. Glycolic to break desmosomes and jojoba beads to polish/buff the skin.
Loved loved loved the Fort Lauderdale workshop!!! I'm so happy to have met Lisa and the crew, and now I can say that I'm even MORE in love with this line. So glad to have followed my intuition about using this line for my business. I ordered different enzymes/masks now and ready to play with my new toys. I'm so grateful for the amazing customer service I receive from Skin Script. Did I say I love Skin Script skin care line? :)
So with coming into critical spf season ( I know it's ALWAYS important but my clients believe me more in summer) I'm wondering about peoples fav SS moisturizer/spf combo. I'm finding the spf to be really thick and kind of hard to rub in. It's been the trickiest product switch from Dermalogica. I've used their 50 spf booster in the past but love this line so much I'm wondering about tricks if there are any…? Thanks in advance!
I find that many clients are looking for SPF with clear zinc and not have the white thick film on their face. Skincare have Zinc Oxide (ZinClear™)
PS .. This SS line is amazing. Clients love it and I love the fact that not too many people on Long Island carry this line. I was going to go with Dermalogica (loved for years) but every where you go, its available.
So just testing products on myself to see how they feel / work, I have oily acne prone skin, hormonal acne. Basically everything makes me break out. Skin type 4. I tried the glycolic pads for a few weeks and it was to drying and caused a really bad break out , acne has healed but left hyperpigmentation .Any suggestions on what to do ?
Hi Cynthia: The glycolic pads are excellent at lifting pigmentation. Can you use them directly on the hyperpigmentation? If you want additional help, please feel free to call me at 480-543-1121and we can discuss your skin in more detail. Thanks!
Just wanted to say that I absolutely love Skin Scripts!! I attended the seminar/training in Orlando and it was definitely worth it! Thinking about heading to AZ for the next class! Lisa you were awesome!
Hi Farah: Wow! Thank you for the nice compliment. I'm so glad you enjoyed the class (despite being so large). We'll try to break down those trainings in the future into 2 separate days so we have more time with the participants.
I highly recommend Dave's 2 day SkinTensive class. I support him in that training and sometimes I get so excited I burst into more drawings and tend to get a little animated. I still get so excited when I see "ah ha" moments for estes in this class.
Thanks again for your comment and hopefully we will see you again soon! Have a great weekend!
Good morning! I have someone I'm trying to win over. This woman have been going to beauty school as a client for Dermalogica's Age Smart treatment. She buys multiple series @ a very reasonable price. I would match the price and do a similar multiple treatments. Would you say the Lemon Zest facial be close as far results? I would say so, but would like to hear your opinion(s) Thanks bunches :) PS: Love Love Skin Script!
I looked up Dermalogica's Age Smart treatment and I think the Lemon Zest would be a nice fit. We are using lemon as the vitamin c/antioxidant. The goji berry mask is also a great antioxidant hydrating mask. The lemon zest may be a bit tingly for her (about a 2 on a scale of 1-10) so make sure she is aware there will be a little tingliness. I look forward to everyone else's comments!
Lisa...thanks so much for inviting me to pipe in at your coffee talk! I really meant it when I said that listening to you and Dave made me want to get back in the treatment room! I have listened to you countless times now with all the workshops we've done together and every single time I learn something new...you are amazing!
Shelley...I think YOU are amazing! I love playing with all your modalities. I think our products complement each other well. Yes, I do still get really excited in the treatment room when I think of a new protocol. It's very rewarding to me when I see and feel the difference in skin. Thanks again and maybe we can do it again with more, different protocols.
Tara: Thank you for attending! I'm glad you liked it. :)
Hi Ladies! I would like to offer "facial parties" with express facials for groups of women with treatments running 30-45 minutes. I think it's a great way to introduce women to skincare at a reasonable cost in an effort to build my business. Anyone have protocols to share? I do have a Skin Spatula and a Dermafile that I can incorporate. I' would not want to do a chemical peel, for obvious reasons but rather something that would exfoliate and leave a beautiful glow for a few days!
Marie - I have a shortened protocol that I use for express facials that works pretty good...
1st cleanse with Green Tea cleanser, 2nd cleanse with Glycolic cleanser and Retinol Scrub, under steam Pomegranate enzyme for about 5 mins - I lightly massage it in with warm water, Apply serums (optional), mini massage with Seaweed masque, leave on and do mini massage on your favorite area (neck arms shoulders or head). Remove masque and moisturize.
Kim: Regarding your nut allergy question, there are 4 products containing nut ingredients: the SPF, Hydrating Moisturizer, Cranberry Sugar Cane Enzyme (seasonal), and the Orangeberry Enzyme (seasonal). If you are ever in question, please patch test. Thanks!
Lisa....I looked for you guys yesterday during set up in Vegas and couldn't find you in the mass confusion that goes on during set up! I'll hunt you down today for my hug....looking forward to seeing all my Skin Script friends!
Shelley: I hunted you down, didn't I?! Glad to see you so busy. We love all of our customers and are so happy to see you and meet you once again. We have a lot of customers just stopping by to say "hi" and we love that.
Does anyone have a favorite protocol they use for couperose skin? I have a client who came in and as soon as you touch her face she starts to flush so I used no steam and cool water during her facial. She really wants to resurface her skin around her nose and chin (which are also couperose) and kept telling me she just really doesn't like how her skin is looking. Any favorite products or treatments out there?
Hi Tara: I like your idea of no steam and use a mild enzyme, such as Raspberry Peach. Have you tried the dermafile on top of the enzyme to buff the skin for mild resurfacing? If not, here's what I do: Apply the enzyme for 7-10 minutes. During the last 2 minutes that the enzyme is on, I use the dermafile (ever so gently, with no tugging or pulling) on top of the enzyme. It leaves the skin very soft (buffing), yet no suction for the couperose skin. For homecare, I would recommend the Pomegranate Cleanser and Retinol Scrub used 2-3 times a week (gently), then Cucumber Toner, etc. I hope this help and look forward to everyone else's feedback. Thanks!
Clients are LOVING the SS products. I'd like to start retailing making them available for clients to purchase. I'm still on a tight budget, so what would be a convenient way to sell to clients? Order form SS as clients request them? Anyone using PAYPAL for secure transactions? TIA :)
Pamela that is exactly what I do. I just put it orders as the clients need them. Super easy and efficient! And it usually only takes about three days to ship to where I am.
I will begin treatment on a client who's concern is melasma. She has a blotch under her eye's , exactly where her sunglasses sit , positioned on the high point of the cheek bone.... She is a fitz 4, the rest of skin is normal. Any helpful treatments to lighten up that area and break up the melasma ? (I have dermafiles and microderm)
Thx!
Hi Lin: Please refer to our 8-week TCA protocol in your manual for a treatment series specifically designed for Fitz 4-6 (although you can use it on all fitzpatricks). If you don't have it, please e-mail me at lisa@skinscriptrx.com.
Pamela & Tara: We also have a drop shipment plan if you want products shipped directly to your clients. If you are interested, please call the office at 480-543-1121 and ask how it works. Thanks everyone!
