Shelley's Show and Tell

Just did the third light treatment on an Asian client and she is ecstatic already! Not only does her face look so much brighter (pigmentation lighter) but she pointed out that the lines on the sides of her face have already diminished. It's always great when the client points out the changes. I can't believe the changes in my 70 year client after just four treatments. I'm starting a teenager with acne next week using green light (see my post below). This new light source is proving so far to achieve much faster results than LED.

Anyone in Ohio? I just came across an opportunity out there that I may be jumping on. I would need a motivated Esty that can work on her own and be very reliable. Email me directly if you would like to know more.

Hi Tara...yes, you only need that enzymatic solution if you are in the habit of letting them sit out and dry up! Place them down in your water right after using it. Then srub with soapy toothbrush under hot water and down in your disinfectant solution for 10 minutes.

I did a webinar with Lisa and Dave from Skin Scripts....what fun! I'll be honest, I was a little nervous because this was my first one. But I think I'm hooked now! We scheduled our next one for Wednesday July 2nd at 9am. I'll be posting details on my website.

What is the new green light device? When will you carry it?

I'll be posting the new light source machine in the next couple of weeks after I finish the testing I'm doing on several clients. I also have two new LED machines coming up in the next couple of weeks! I'm a busy bee!

Tomorrow I'm giving a Shelley's Show & Tell workshop and we've hired a professional video crew to film it! So, if I have not made it to your city to play, you can view the video! This should be fun!

The video shoot went really well! We had kind of a quiet group of estys there that day....would have liked to had more questions asked, but I think it turned out nicely. Hoping to have it done within the next couple of weeks! I'll post when it becomes available!

First day at the Vegas Show was awesome! It's so fun to meet in person Estys that I feel so close to from phone calls and emails. Lots of hugs going on in my booth yesterday! Our hotel room faces the mountains, not the strip.....so I am sitting here watching the sun come up and it is breathtaking. Makes me forget I'm in Vegas! Okay, off to day two. Christine....no it doesn't. I chose not to talk about it. We've been testing it and getting some really great results but I'm kinda disappointed. I was expecting faster results than LED and I'm just not seeing it. The technology is much more expensive so I was expecting much more. I will say though that the testing with green light for acne is paying off. It took a few treatment for it to kick in, but our acne kid is looking really good!

I love it when I get to use a piece of my equipment on myself that I don't normally need and so I get to see first hand how effective it is! Yesterday a pimple came up right on my lower lip line...it's such a sensitive area! I used my CTL on it. I zapped it with 8 pulses twice and then another 6 pulses (HOT!). I applied some of my real balance serum and this morning...GONE! Whoohoo! Love it!

Yesterday I tried a new marketing idea that I learned from a program my husband and I are doing and.....it worked! I put an ad on Craigslist entitled FREE Report: Five Steps to Younger Looking Skin. In the body of the email I put the link to my skincare centers website and instructed them to click the link on my homepage to receive their free report. I wanted to draw them to my website, not just give them the report. This morning when I checked my email, I got a bite!! So, I sent the report to this potential client along with a 20% discount off her first appointment. We'll see if we hear from her right away. We'll give her 5 days to respond and if we don't hear from her, we'll send an email checking in. But now I have her on my email list for future promotions. Pretty cool, huh?!

Hi Shelley, quick question. I know on the dermafile's old website it is recommended to only use the dermafiles on a monthly basis. Have you used it on someone once weekly and see adverse affects?

Tara: You can use the dermafiles weekly just like you would do a series of microderm treatments!

Carrie: I put it under beauty services!

I am on a roll with these marketing ideas lately! I was helping an Esty on the phone with how to market a treatment using the Enhancer units. Ideas were just rolling off my tongue. I hung up and looked over at my assistant and she said...damn girl, great ideas! :-)

So, I put them to the test. I sent out an email to my Spa clients yesterday morning. My Esthetician called me (remember that I don't live near my Spa anymore. I have a fabulous Esty running it) and said that she received two phone calls right away. I am going to see about posting the email I sent out on my website. Norma....so happy to hear you love your Spatula! I can't get the LED masks in red and blue anymore. :-(  I'm working diligently on getting another LED unit. We've been testing with several companies. Hope to have something fabulous soon!

Back to the drawing board!

I'm heading to Florida pretty soon for two workshops but I just was asked by Radiancy to work with them at the IECSC Florida Show on  November 9th and 10th. Cool! So, those of you that couldn't make it to my workshop, I can now see you at the Show!! I'll be in booth 823 with Radiancy/PhotoMedex.

I got a few new toys in this week and have started the testing process. A couple we poopood right away but there's one that I'm kinda excited about! We run it through not only an effectiveness test but a stress test to see how sturdy it is. It's cordless (whoohoo!) so we will run the charge out for three or four days in a row to make sure it doesn't kick the bucket easily! Just finished up two fabulous workshops in Florida. We had so much fun. Florida Estys rock! Today we're heading off to play at Disney World....whoohoo!
