I am a new grad who will be looking for part time work.  My schedule is limited now though because I still have a child in half-day preschool.  So until she is in school for a full day, I am working on building my portfolio, continuing education, and networking.  If I can find a part time job somewhere that fits in with my schedule that would be great, but I'm not expecting it to happen right away.

I have a background in publishing, so I figured I would start a blog on skin care and wellness to get exposure for myself with the hope of being more marketable when it is time to go back to work full time.  The blog is still very new, but it is doing well in terms of traffic.  I'd love more comments though, but I suppose it is still early.

I also started writing for Blogcritics.org.  I can republish some of what I write there on my blog, but I can write about other topics as well.  They link to my blog, and I have had a big increase in traffic since my first article with them was published.

I feel that since I am a bit in limbo right now, all I can do is draw on all of my past experience, combine it with my knowledge and passion for skin care and wellness, and hope people read and share what I write.  Hopefully, this will all lead to other opportunities in the field of aesthetics.

I'm interested in product recommendations for ADULT ACNE? Proactiv is the number one product I hear about and see and it is marketed to Acneic clients not an age group.  I use Pevonia at work, but their acne line is marketed towards teens.  We use this line on adults as well.

What types of ingredient differences are there in professional teen lines vs lines marketed towards adults or are they same?

Hi (:  I'm an esthetician, and I'm looking to go to school for CIDESCO in San Francisco, California. If I get to go, I won't be able to keep my current job, as the hours will be conflicting. Does anyone know of a place in San Francisco that i might look into for a job? Or a space to rent would be great too.

I live in Rhode Island and just graduated in November from 600 hours of esthetics. The Sunshine does not come out enough for me to want to live here any longer.

Does anyone have clients they would like to share, because they are moving on to new location? I am open to all possibilities...

I'm not even sure if this is the place to post (lol) but here goes! :)

I am still a newly licensed Esthetician in Pierce County, WA looking for a great spa opportunity with growth or possible makeup artist or assistant work. I have been working in front desk positions in the past and have experience working reception/front desk recently within a day spa.

  • Chelsea Clendennen

Hello, I am a licensed Educator in Texas. I have been teaching for five years. I am new to this site, it's amazing! It's great that we have this as a resource! Thank you Skin Deep Magizine for having this site available.

So I just wanted to point out some advice for some of the new esty's coming into the feild. It is all about knowledge and continueing your education once you graduate school. Do research on all spa's you are interested in before taking your resume' to them. When giving your resume' make sure not give to the front desk, give to the owner/ person in charge of new hire's. When you are doing this research know as much about the company as possible.

A story I want to share is a dear friend was straight out of school was in a interveiw and it was for a postion at a med spa, the doctor was the one giving the interview. The doctor had asked what can you offer my business that I can not do on my own??? Her reply was advice on how to make her website more user friendly and had found multiply spelling errors. She made suggestions that would be benificial to the Doctor's company.

This showed she had gone out and taken the time to do research on the company and knew what the facility offered and how should could benifit the company. For alot of my student this is there second profession whatever you have done in your past can help in your future.

Also Craiglist is not always the best choice on finding a job. In my experience alot of the spa's that put ad's up have a high turn over rate. Do not forget you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you.

  • Lindsey Alana Spray

My name is Lindsey and I have been an esthetician for 5 years and a professional make-up artist for 9 years.  I have a great passion for the skin and beauty industry.  I always say the skin is like a canvas, you always need to start with a nice clean and clear canvas.

I’m in the US and I’m looking to work as an esthetician in a spa or salon around Glendale, Pasadena or Burbank. I would appreciate anyone’s help.
