I sell Image skincare but have trouble getting clients to try full size at first. Do any of you give them the trial packs or offer a deal etc to get them to buy product?
Hi Angela! I'm a Rep in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area. Thanks for the inquiry. Here are a few suggestions:
It's fine to offer individual samples, Trial Kits or Tri-Kits to new clients or samples for new products to existing clients. Be careful not to over-sample with clients...some will never make a purchase and this can quickly turn into an expense for you.
When speaking with your clients about home care it's very important to overcome the objections. It all starts with the consultation on the client's first visit. Results are most effective with a combination of treatments and home care. We promote a 4 product sales technique offering the client a cleanser, serum, moisturizer and sun protection. This will vary by product line. Clients may choose to buy one to start but they can buy one product per visit until they have what they need to achieve their skin care goals.
You can also offer 10-15% off retail products for purchasing the four products or for booking/purchasing a package.
As timing would have it, there is a FREE Image Skincare webinar tomorrow, 12/13 at 3:00 (East Coast time) titled, "Double Your Retail Sales". Register at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/127576920 for more retail success strategies!
You may consider adding the trial kit (post-peel kit) to your treatment, as home care; all you need to do is increase the treatment price a tiny bit. This way, you ensure they get to sample the products and they have the proper post treatment maintenance.
I am sure once you educate them on how great the ingredients in these products are and how well they will work on their skin, after trying the products clients will surely come back and purchase the full size! It worked with me :).
If I know someone is going to return as a client I never hesitate to give samples. I don't give the kits though. I give samples that I feel they really need. It has paid off like gangbusters. I use my 10% back in product and order the 10 pack sets of the best sellers. I don't bother with the kits anymore. If you know a client is using an inferior product you are doing them a favor by tossing a moisturizer sample in with the facial.
