Shelley's Show and Tell

This group is for Esty's to follow Shelley Hancock's fun stories of new treatments, products and marketing ideas. Using my 29 years in this industry, I love to share what's working to make my skincare business thrive!

Facial versus Treatment

I threw away my steamer back in 2002....well, it actually kicked the bucket and I decided not to replace it because I wanted to move on to more cutting edge equipment. I started looking at how i could save my body for the long haul and in the process offer my clients something more effective than the typical steam facial. My first new toy back then was LED Light and I've been hooked on toys ever since!

Okay, let me get to the point of this discussion....

I just hired a wonderful Esthetician (so I can get out of the treatment room and concentrate more on helping you guys!). She has been working at the same Spa for 14 years doing Euopean facials. This is a well known Spa in our area and it's a beautiful place. She was ready to learn something new and found out about me...the tool time girl!!

Her clients are following her and my oh my are they excited about these new treatments (not facials) she is giving them. You should see their faces when they come out of the treatment room...it's like disbelief that they are really seeing what they are seeing on their faces...change! She has rebooked every one of them and sold series and these clients are telling their friends, which I bet they never did when recieving their European facial.

My point here is....we truly create buzz and revenue when we offer treatments that give the client that WOW factor immediately. My new Esty is having a blast and has told me how much she loves working at my Center....music to my ears!

    Hi Shelley,

I am looking for something new to enhance my clients treatments. I currently have no tools on my belt, so I am looking for a recommendation. If I could only start off with one tool, which would you suggest? Most of my clients are looking for anti-aging treatments, some pigmentation problems, few acne clients.

I'm debating between the spatula and electroporation.

I love my European facial 'treatments'...along with my other treatments/facials.  I adore both.  I do feel it is unfair to imply that a European Facial will not improve the skin..or, that it cannot give immediate results. I find that completely untrue. I still customize my European facials...including their facial massage. They are glowing, pores refined, are less puffy, skin looks and feels rejuvenated. I have exfoliation pieces along with nutrient rich pieces from masks to balancing oil infusions used to 'balance' the skin based upon their skin's needs. It is not a cookie cutter experience by any means. ;)   While I do offer oxygen infusions, LED, electroporation, botanical microdermabrasion, ultrasonic exfoliation, enzymes, chemical peels etc...  My European Facial Treatments are a head to toe experience ya da ya da...but, the focus is always on the skin, and it is being 'treated' accordingly.  My clients see real 'changes' that are indeed accumulative. ;)

Hello just joined - and glad that I did - I could have written this article above . I have not used a steamer for 10 years  always felt that it just soaked up water into the skin and any nutrient that I wanted to apply would be prevented from getting into the skin. I agree also that if the clients are not coming out of the treatment room

with 'whow I look great' they will not come back. I have been a Esthetician,Homeopath,Massage Therapist, and Natural Health Practitioner for 30 years and have some clients that are coming for over 20 years to me.

I also have always the latest equipment and products that are on the market, and right now I am house cleaning and have several things available - if any one is interested please contact me. Let me know what you need and I will see if I have it and send a picture and of it to you.
