Peel Series for Severe Acne for a Fitzpatrick 6

Hi :)

I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good Skin Script Peel Series for a Fitzpatrick 6.  I saw in my notes that the Cranberry Turnover Peel isn't good for Fitz 4, 5, or 6 because it can cause hyperpigmentation.  What would be best for someone with oily skin?  Thanks!

    Hi Kristy:

I will use the Cranberry Turnover Peel if the skin is prepped with lighteners (glycolic pads) prior to treatment so we can avoid PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation).  It's especially effective spot treating severe acne, as I don't feel I have to use it all over the face if its not needed.

Otherwise, I really like the TCA (which was created specifically for Fitz 4-6).  It's a mild TCA, so don't get too frightened about it.  It contains azaleic acid which is an androgen inhibitor for cases of hormonal acne.  If you are looking to treat using this TCA, I might suggest an enzyme first, remove it, then apply 1 layer of the TCA.  Have her wear the TCA for at least 8 hours.  I have attached our protocol for this peel, which can be used for oily skin as well.

This might seem a little complicated here so if you prefer, please feel free to call me at 480-543-1121 and we can talk about it over the phone.  Thanks!
