Microneedling...thoughts?

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with microneedling.  I saw it the Philly ICES last October and was intrigued, and now I have heard from a couple of different lines that they are considering adding it to their protocols to increase product penetration.  It seems a little aggressive to me, but I did see pretty dramatic, immediate results at the show, and I can see how it could increase penetration.  What do you all think?

I have a brow/lash tint client that I've been trying for 6 months or more to get in for a facial. Her sister introduced her to the anti-aging line which uses the roller offered by the Proactiv company.  She loves it and her skin looks great. I too am too scared to you try it.

      Hi Rachael,

Yes, I've been curious also to know more about microneedling....  I decided to buy one for myself and went with a .5 millimeter length... I did not want to go with anything that I felt might be too invasive.

Yes, it is a bit uncomfortable, but my skin is also thin ( age 57) I did not overdo it and made a point of not pushing it into the skin.  I applied my moisturizer afterwards.  The next morning my skin felt especially soft ( I was surprised to notice much of a diffference because I use Pevonia Botanica's products and have felt that my skin is in about as great a shape as I could hope for ).  I've since used it several times, probably too short a time to notice very much,  but I have been impressed with my skin feeling very "alive" (especially at my age)

I did read from one account that microneedling is being considered for use in administering vaccines/ innoculations.  I found that interesting and thought it made the whole concept of microneedling more credible.   But I would still like to know more before recommending it.  My concern is that some people think that more is better ( as in the bleeding part .... which I am also against)  and would end up doing damage to themselves.   I would be very careful whom I would recommend it to and would make it a real point to educate them as to how to use it.
