  • Necia Kuleck

Hi :)  I'm not a lash specialist yet but am looking into training. I'm interested in  what brand does everyone use and why?  Do you put lashes on every lash or does it depend on the person?  Any feedback is appreciated!
  • Cameo Godsey

I love premier lash. They have excellent customer service and pricing. They are about doing lashes safely and have longer training than another other company. Where abouts are you? I just met the owner of Chicago Lash Lounge and she knows her stuff!

Lashes definitely are not for everyone. Some people have way too little of their own so you have to start them on a "lash food" to get more lashes to grow back in... (it's usually a result of poor lash care and lots of mites, yuck) Others just have really screwy lashes that just won't separate... Most people can do lashes that is why there are many types of curls. In advanced training you get more information on curl, shaping and highlighting.

  • Stevie Adamovsky

Just got certified through my spa! My boss paid for the training & kit, she went with iLash. The kit included lengths 9-13 & curls B & C. How popular are the J's & what about shorter lengths, like 7 or 8? Thanks :)
  • Stevie Adamovsky

I also would love to get certified by Longmi by Daniel, he has the
    1st & only US Patented

    method for multiple-layer eyelash extensions
  • Cameo Godsey

How popular are the J's & what about shorter lengths, like 7 or 8? Thanks :) Stevie

Stevie- J's are more for really straight lash folks. Their lashes cannot be longer than an 8 to apply or point straight down like many asian lashes or else the extensions will hang and block the eye. 7 & 8's are more for shaping the inner and outer eye or to put on new baby lashes coming in (about 1/4 in). Did your company teach you shaping and to use more than two lengths of lashes??

  • Stevie Adamovsky

Cameo~So J's aren't as widely used? They taught use to use more than two lengths but not some much about shaping. I usually use 3-4 different lengths & B's & C's. Should I just use different lengths & stick to one type of curl? Though I think I'm doing a good job & so far my clients have liked them, most of the pics I see on other sites & the web, they lash line looks more uniformed?
  • Cameo Godsey

The curls are definitely used to fit the lash type best. You will want to use the same curl and three lengths to avoid that block look. Lashes are an art for sure. You sound like you have it down. Maybe an advanced class is in order for you to learn more about shaping and eye types? Every type of lash has it's own function for style and person. J's are used a lot but the length and lash has to be the right fit.
  • Stevie Adamovsky

That def makes sense to me, using the same curl and three lengths! I can't wait to try it out! They are an art form for sure but I'm LOVING it! I love the detail involved & the look of the lashes as it comes together :) I wish I had J curls in my kit. Seems most of my clients have either-really curly lashes, really straight or just plain crazy/every which way lashes. Practice makes perfect they say ;) Thanks for you help & advice!
  • Megan

I am so excited to find this lash specialist group.  I have been trained with Xtreme Lashes and can't wait to read posts on "trick of the trade" :) Megan

  • Cameo Godsey

    Welcome Megan!
  • Cameo Godsey

My fav look , more natural looking is putting J's and B's. It really adds dimension! Check out premierlash.com ! They have colors too! I always up sell highlights!
  • Cameo Godsey

Stevie- I really think B curl lashes fit the most people and don't drag the eye down. Also key to not making the eye appear saggy you'll need to use shorter lengths on the edge. Natural cat eye shapes can handle a little longer.

Does anyone know the rate for an Eyelash Extensionist? For example, if you are working for someone else, what is the commission?

  • Zola Nemorin

I have job openings for eyelash extensionists in Ga.

If you are interested please send your info and resume to zola@mylushlashes.com

  • Megan

Vicky- YES you need insurance especially if you are independent.  If you end up working for someone they may provide it.  Lashing is difficult as we know. If you can find someone that will give you further training you will benefit from that.  Try posting on craigslist for both jobs and offer a special. I did this (special) and got several people- although it did help me to practice the retention was minimal. Who did you train through?  Xrteme Lashes has a link on their professional site that sometimes lists jobs.

  • Megan

You can get insurance through ASCP (that's this website). It covers skin and lashes. I do not know about CA laws

  • Jean-Paulo Yabut

Hi Vicky, I do not know what part of Los Angeles you live but you may call my sister, Bennett, and she might hire you as Eyelash Technician. Her salon is located in Culver City. Visit Bennett's website www.eyedolashesla.com

    I wish you well.

  • Brigitte McDonald

Looking for a recommendation for a lash artist in Scranton, PA.  Any takers?

  • Wendy Dascoli

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on adhesive and lashes?

I became certified in Nov/2012 and just now starting to practice. So I'm looking for input from other lash professionals! Also, if anyone wants to share a booth rental in Raleigh, NC, contact me. :D

  • Kyong

Please accept my apology, I sent out a group email earlier today regarding a ProKit I am looking to sell.

I had not reviewed the posting/email guidelines prior to sending out the message and I was in violation. I'm sorry for the error.

  • Gladys Allen

I am newly certified by JB Lashes and I need some of your expertise. I notice when I apply my lashes they are not really full. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get them to look fuller? Thanks
