Sounds like this will be a fun and interesting group! I started out retail in Makeup and then became a makeup artist. I enjoyed working in San Francisco and the Bay Area. I helped alot of models who were trying to get modeling contracts. All of this lead me to skin care and my Esty license. What fond memories!
  • Tatiana Rose

Yeah, Makeup is a HUGE passion for me and what started me in my endevor as a skin care specialist as well! I bet working in the Bay Area is amazing. I Love it up there. I'm excited to see what discussion we will get going :)

I'm an esthetician looking for a makeup line to use for bridal makeup.  I was thinking about Motives cosmetics.  Does anyone have any recommendations that don't require a huge starting investment? I currently use airbrush and brands like MAC, Ben Nye, Urban Decay.  Trying to revamp for the new year and looking for a mineral makeup line.

  • Andrea Stein

I love Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup and it has the Skin Caner Foundations stamp of approval!

  • Barbara Jackson

I've read a lot of good reviews for Jane Iredale makeup.  I am a solo esthetician, so I thought that might be too expensive for me.  I know there's a lot of Glominerals in my area, so I was looking for something different.

  • Vanessa Barrientez

I'm looking for a good professional makeup kit that has more than 3 shades for women of color. Any suggestions?
  • Adrianne Couvé

Hello everyone, I have my own practice and have my own private label skin care and makeup. I do photography and bridal makeup in addition to special occasion makeup. I have hardly sold any makeup but my skincare line is very successful. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to generate more makeup sales?

  • Chris Bresky

Hi I thought of using Motives the line looks good however I contacted them and what makes me nervous its one of those multi level marketing companies and I do not want  to get involved in that. Try Lady Burd cosmetics its private label and they have been around for a long time. It was suggested to me by a make up artist who works on television shows

Hello fellow pros! Any body got any recommendations for mascara? The most recent one ive used is benefit and im not too impressed. Any feedback would be great!

  • Jennifer Tata

Hi Victoria.  I have tried just about every mascara there is, among them Benefit.  I am with you.  I was not impressed either.  But I always go back to one mascara and that is BE buxom.  It has a beautiful brush and I have never had a problem with the formula clumping on the lashes

  • Sally Connor

I am a fan of Definicils by Lancome. (the original one)

  • De'Breka Carter

So I had a makeup audition today for freelancing. I got it!!! Yaay! But....what is a good start off brand though. I have coastal scents and bodyography so far. What are great lines but pocket friendly for starters?

  • Adrianne Couvé

Congratulations! I use Audrey Morris Private Lable Products and I love them. They carry a Total Coverage Foundation that's great for Stage and TV. Lady Buryd also carries a lot of products that professional makeup artist use. Good luck!

  • De'Breka Carter

Wow! Thanks! I thought about Audrey Morris Products! Ok I'll give her a try!

  • Jennifer Olej

  • body&skincarebyenith

    I'm a newbie!!! HI!!! :-)
  • Jennifer Figueredo

Is anyone going to Imats L.A or the L.A Makeup Show?

  • Jill Steele

Hi, I use Your Name for my BB Cream, it's a good formula!

SeneGence for all my foundation & color especially the Lip Color because it's so long lasting!

Qosmedix for my brushes! It's fun to play!

  • Christine Maloney

Check out Kett Cosmetics, I purchased their equipment and received initial training.  Once you have the airbrush there are many companies to choose from; Temptu is great, I believe MAC carries a line of airbrush makeup.

  • Kimberly Bourbon

Anyone have a recommendation for the best make-up school in the USA?
  • Cindy
