Hello Joy! I took the training in Ocology Esthetics in December...We are promoting the service through a Wellness Spa I contract my services to here in Bethesda,MD...I think the best way to promote Oncology Esthetics is through a relationship with a local hospital..Since I currently live on a medical campus, I will volunteer my services through the hospital and give my business card out to establish a clientele at the Wellness Spa...We are also preparing to work with an academic Oncology department at a local medical school...I hope this is helpful

    Hi Joy,

Like you - I am finding it somewhat challenging establishing an  Oncology Esthetics practice.  Joy gave some good advice to check with Wellness Practices; either those associated with hospitals/clinics or free-standing facilities.  That is exactly the advice I was given yesterday by an affiliate of Touch for Cancer.  She also suggested rather than focusing on the feel good aspects of esthetics, she said that the medical community might respond better initially, if we highlight the medical aspects of preparing impaired skin prior to treatments to maximize skin health during and post treatments.  I'm in New England - it's always a challenge here to introduce so called "new" practices.  I'm betting if we can get some "evidence based" research to back our claims, we might find acceptance more readily.  This will catch-on - it's just going to take time, effort and sweat to get there.

Whoops!  Correction!!  I meant to give credit to Robin for her recommendation to contact  wellness centers & hospitals.
