I love your site! The before and after pictures are a testimony to what you do.  It is very rewarding when you give a person the gift of self-esteem!  Whenever I am in SFO, I would love to visit your spa. Thanks for the valuable information!!

    laura,

I have visited your website and noticed that you take out of town clients. I have a referral from a massage therapist for a gentleman with acne on his back I would like to refer over to you as a long distance client. I am really booked with anti aging clients and it does not make sense for me to take my business in this direction at this time, but would like to place him in good hands. It sounds like you could be just who he needs.

How would you like to handle this? I would be happy to forward you an email from him, i have already spoken with him about the long distance possibility. It is my understanding that he has spent lots of money with others receiving no results.

Hi Laura , I am new to the Industry . I recently got a job in an Aveda salon I am there only esthetician. I am getting a bit frustrated as I feel they are just working the salon part of there business and not trying to help put the word out that they also do facials and waxing. They want 50% of my services but 50 % of nothing is nothing Help !!! I'm not sure how to handle this any ideas for me to draw in some business ?  Thank you and good info in your blogs
  • Cheryl Bruss

Hi Laura thanks foor taking your time to comment . I have done a couple of the girls. One had a body polish and brows done and another had a facial and alot of waxing done . The one who did the facial her mother came in and had a facial but I have'nt gotten any new clients other then that from either of them. I could tell the other girls I would love to do a service on them also, should I do it for free and then they just pay a product cost to the salon/spa owners ? Or maybe suggest we switch services. also maybe put up a card of some sort on their mirrors . I am also having a skin event on the 11th with our Aveda Rep so maybe she can help me out . I just was expecting the owners of the salon/spa to advertise me and my services more to get business for US . Thanks again :)

Thank you Laura, I,m going to get your DVD after the Holidays, since I have to much going right now.

  • Sandra Crespo

Thank you Laura... I actually have been looking at getting the instructional DVD for the past month when I first ran into your clinic through Google.  I have had 2 rough months and was hoping to be able to afford it by January.  I really want to specialize in acne because I want to be able to help people.  So far I have been successful at treating my clients and they always come back but I want to be even more successful and your clinic seems to be exactly what would work for me! I wish I lived a little closer to be able to personally go visit it in person.  Maybe I will get the DVD for Christmas ;-) its on my wish list ...

Laura, do derivitives equal the same as the oil itself.   Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is the derivitive of coconut  and is a top ingred. in a new teen acne product.

    Thanks for your help.

I have a client's acne under control, except for big hard bumps that she gets deep under the skin, just on her chin, just one or two at a time.  I have her on a bp and glycolic regimen.  Any suggestions?

  • Juliette Zweig

Thank you, Laura. I checked you out, throughly, (smile) and you really know what you are talking about.

At a future date, I am planning on taking your course.  Acne is agony. Especially for teens!  I think sometimes parents go through more heart-ache then their kids.  I feel so strongly about this population and want to offer “reasonable” rates so parents will bring their kids to me, and not to the derm, who will put them on meds.

Thank you for the welcome note.

No prob. I mess up all the time. Really enjoyed reading thiese posts. a year out of school and so much to get into this thick head of mine.  I visited your website and read some of the great info and was very impressed. In fact, wanted to copy and repost to my Facebook page, but I didn't. I've already learned so much. I'll be rereading and taking notes. thank you for taking the time to help us all out.

  • Christina Wilson

Thank you, Laura. I just purchased a few other training DVD's. In a few months I'll pick up yours. Treating acne is something I'm passionate about, thinking about specializing in it.

Hi Laura, nice to meet you!

    Hi Laura,

I can not find the past post regards to ingredients in sunscreens and your recommendation for those who experience acne. I have a client who does not like to wear sunscreen. She informs me that every time she uses it she breaks out. Which is better titanium dioxide or zinc for those who experience break outs with sunscreen.

    Hello!
I've been an esthetician for over a year and lately I'm having some clients returning with some breakouts after they have a facial with me. I just learned that algae is comedogenic and I've been using enzyme gel ( with algae ) to cleanse the skin with steam on.
Could be that is what is wrong ? Why people get breakouts after a facial ? Please help me
