Ladies (and Gentlemen!) Please, Please, Please Don't Do This!

You guys know that I don't normally chat about negative stuff but I really need to understand this. I think I may have even written about this one awhile back but it happens time and time again and I'm just so very curious....

I'll return a phone call to an Esty that has left me a message about a piece of equipment or she's just needing some help with something. She (or he) will answer the phone only to tell me they are doing a facial and can't talk right now. They are literally answering their phone from the treatment room, they are whispering to me! Why are you answering your phone in the treatment room? Why is your phone even in the treatment room with you? Am I really old fashioned (or just old!) and it's okay to do this?  Please help me understand this one!

That is completely UNEXCUSABLE!! I can't believe Estheticians answer their phone during a treatment. They should give that client their undivided attention... I am in shock to have read this and no my dear, you are not old fashioned at all, It is called common sence and having proper bedside manners...

I can't imagine doing that or having that done to me as a client.  Does this happen alot?  In certain areas, or all over?

Ughh. Terrible. There is no excuse for that.

I am looking at this from a client's perspective, and I can honestly say that if my esthetician took a phone call in the treatment room while I was there, I would not come back. The only exception would be if she explained she was waiting for an urgent call of some sort, and it was a once in a blue moon occurrence.  Otherwise, that is my time with her that I'm paying for, and I expect her to devote her attention to me. Not to mention that it can really ruin the relaxation mode when you hear a phone ringing. Even if the phone is on vibrate, her whispering to someone on while I'm laying on her table is almost as bad. A big no-no in my book!
