If you've taken the Face Reality Certification course- How long did it take for you to become certified and feel confident to treat all types of acne?  Any comments on the course and success of your treatments would be helpful.  Do you promote yourself as an acne specialist and does it bring you new business?

I currently use and sell Rhonda Allison products as well as the Image Ormedic cleanser and a few Techniche products.  Would I still be able to use any of those when treating acne clients?  I have had good success with the RA when treating clients with just a few breakouts but I haven't really treated anyone with serious acne.

I just placed an order for the Radiancy ClearTouch Lite for acne as well as the Radiancy FSD.

Nicole, I highly recommend the Face Reality program.  I have been certified for two years now.  The process to become certified can happen quickly - just depends on how fast you go through the material and take the test. Prior to FR, I had minimal success with acne; now I can clear severe inflamed acne - IF the client does their part. By that I mean the FR program is much more than just a product line.  In our consults with new clients, they are getting a ton of diet/supplementation/work/play/lifestyle information that can make or break their success.  It's the client's job to implement as many of these as they can.  We also have a VERY active Facebook group where we are exchanging information and ideas all the time.  As for incorporating other products, I only do very sparingly - and they are not the actives.  FR doesn't make a cleanser gentle enough for some of my folks (we are incredibly dry where I am), so I use PCA Creamy Cleanser (no comedogenic ingredients) for example.  I also use Environ Anti-Oxidant Gel on some clients toward the end of the program, because the only issue I have the the FR program is I feel there is not quite enough emphasis on healing toward the end.  The acne is clear, but there is often a lot of post-inflammatory angiogenesis, the strong products have subjected the skin to a lot of oxidative stress, etc.

I usually incorporate high frequency or red or blue LED into the FR professional treatments.

FR has been a game changer for me, and yes, I call myself an acne specialist because now, I am way better than any dermatologist out there at clearing acne, and yes, it has resulted in noticeably more acne business.

Thank you Mary for all the great information.  I have the red/blue LED mask that I purchased from Shelley Hancock.  I have never used high frequency.  When I went to school 15 years ago we had no equipment except for a steamer and mag. light.  Do you think high frequency is important to get- I saw a portable unit somewhere online that I thought about getting.  I have limited space and outlets for machines.  I have a crystal MDA machine, ultrasonic spatula, LED mask and I have ordered both Radiancy machines.

I'm trying to transition to more result oriented services and less pampering services (still offering the pampering though)

Mary Lou said it well.  How quickly you become certified is up to you.  It is a complete program and if followed will get your clients clear, YES it brings new business.  Yes, I incorporate other products.  Yes, I use hi-frequency and find it very useful.

Thank you Brenda!  I placed my order for the DVD yesterday.
