Hi all -

I've been doing peels on my Mother's Hands and arms for a couple of weeks using Image Skincare. However, my Mom doesn't feel like it's really doing anything, so I'd like to see if anyone has ideas with Skin Script? Anyone do this already and if so, what acids do you use? Do you have a protocol? Help is MUCH appreciated!

I just finised a series of acne treatments on a client that tried image but flared up with it and had great results from ss. I am guessing we are dealing with age spots etc. I would try retinol scrub layered with lemon zest and 3drops of lactic acid mixed in. I did this but with the cranberry enzyme from Xmas and it rocked! Too bad cranberry wont be coming back next year. Its my fave!!!

A ignorant question I know, but when you say layering with retinol scrub, lemon zest, latic. Why would we layer with the retinol? What is the the benefit? You literally layer these and remove after 10 min?

HiTracy - I apply a layer of retinol directly onto impacted pores, under steam, and then apply the enzyme directly on top of the retinol for 7-10 minutes.  Remember that retinol is Vitamin A.  Vitamin A is excellent at desquamating the follicle lining to help with acne and clearing impacted pores.  Add in the enzyme and you have a great combination for acne.  Tell the client she/he could be flaky when you add the retinol to the treatment.

The laying protocol you describe above is correct.

I'm feeling really foolish, but need to make sure I have this right. How long do you leave the retinol under steam  before you apply the next layer or is the total time 7-10 min

thank you again

No foolish questions here.  I apply the retinol, manipulate it into the clogged pores for approximately 1 minute, then I apply the enzyme/peel directly on top of the retinol scrub and manipulate all that in.  I leave it all on, under steam, for 7-10 minutes.  I will even use my dermafile directly on top of this action.

We shipped you a webinar dvd on February 6.  Go to that DVD under the Product Demonstration folder and watch the "Demo of Blending Exfoliation Methods."  It's all there.

Hi Lisa,

This thread has been very helpful for me, as I would like to begin introducing enzymes into my current treatments. I'll be placing another order for the retinol scrub(I absolutely love it!) and would like to purchase an enzyme as well. Most of my clientele are anti-aging + hydration, but I also have a handful of breakout-prone/acne clients.

I'm looking at the Rasp Peach or Pomegranate enzymes??

Thoughts?

TIA!

Hi Kyong:

I'll let everyone else answer also, but my favorite enzymes are my "core enzymes" that I've had since the beginning:

1)  Coconut for sensitive skin (or the Raspberry works well too).

2)  Lemon Zest for dry skin

3)  Pomegranate for oilier skin

Maybe the 30% glycolic and 20% lactic peels to add into the enzyme when you want them stronger.

Anyone else?

I've always had a hard time peeling body skin, regardless of what peel company I used.  For hands and arms, you might benefit from the protocol discussed by Jamie (especially the lactic acid), but I feel the use of the glycolic/retinol pads on a daily basis on the hands and arms might be the best treatment.

This is great, Jamie and Lisa! Thanks for providing this. I'm trying this on my Mom tonight and trying to get her to use the gly/retinol pads.

I'm having my mom and sister do the Gly/Ret pads on their hands now and taking pics. Hopefully they get some good results! :) Thanks for the tip, Lisa. I've been wanting to try stuff on hands but I know it is really hard to get results on the body.
