With my acne clients, I like to see them and kinda have them sample products to see how the skin reacts before having them purchase full sz....

Some are so eager to jump to full size, jump into certain regimen, but IMO this type of skin problem is complex, therefore different products are needed for different types of acne, and it gets frustrating if I overdry them...which has been this last case....

I was unable to see client and mother was eager to get her a full regimen...i was told she broke out and was really oily...so I get a text at 3am talking about how bad her skin was burning and how red it was....I did a treatment on her next day and tried to alleviate some of the inflammation...re-wrote how to use products....the second cleanser I have her on is Medicated Pumice Wash, the first one was Saly. based from Le Mieux, then I have her on an exfoliating toner for spot treating trouble spots, Sulfur mask to help with inflammation, and now heavier moisturizer and O2 Calming Gel for the irritations (this can be used alone when skin is oilier...in the south with the humidity it is almost neccessary to change it up when it is spring, summer time....).

I put her on quite a few products as you can see, but not to be used all the time every day...

Just wondering how some of you go about acneic skin regimens...Sometimes the skin looks like it could handle certain products, then they are too strong....

Finding balance is key, I know this much, but finding the right products to balance it all out is tough sometimes.

If acne is something you treat a lot, or a passion of yours, I highly recommend you train for the Face Reality program.  It takes most of the guess work out and has a very high success rate.

Totally changed how I treat acne, my confidence in treating acne, and my business!

Also, and this is my personal opinion, but 99% of the time, when the parent is that… neurotic … about their kid's skin, the parent is looking for a quick fix and the kid probably doesn't care much/won't do the regimen right.

a client texting you at 3 am is a HUGE breach of boundaries, and you need to reestablish yourself as the professional and not allow that to happen.

IMO  :)
I've dealt with a lot of wacko's to realize this!

Don't take this the wrong way.. but this situation sounds so familiar to me.  I had a client much like this.  Mother pushing for full regimen, treatment ASAP… then when the acne wasn't gone 3 days later, she screamed and yelled and wanted a FULL refund.
I fired her.  And did not give her a refund.

But, I've seen this scenario a couple of times, so beware. ;)
