Any known allergies to "vinyl" gloves?

I always use vinyl gloves and most recently I have had a new client complain that she has broken out in a rash. I used the same products I use every day, and she could possibly have a reaction to one of the products. However the gloves I used were from a new vendor I found on Amazon, latex-free pink gloves, I'm wondering if anyone has ever had a client react to vinyl gloves?

I have only had a handful of clients with latex allrgies, and none who were allergic to vinyl.

Re-check the box you purchased and make sure that they are indeed non-latex, and WHAT exactly they are made with.

Could be that they are coated or treated with something that is causing a reaction with client (or even with your products!)

I love the Nitrile gloves ( may want to spell check ). Reason being because many people arent allergic to them, the feel is alot better, and the ridges on the fingtertips feel more like finger tips.

check for any additives or powders. vinyls allergies do exist, but are rare-ish. nitrile is a wonderful alternative. they are pricey, and normally i do not advocate big-box store purchases but! costco has nitrile gloves 400 ct for $10 and that is an amazing price. i do permanent cosmetics so can go through 10 pr in a service, which adds up when they are $9/100.

it could have been a heat rash too, depending on how much friction occurred, what products were used, and how sensitive the clients skin is. sometimes bizarre stuff happens...

Good point Kelli! friction and heat CAN cause an immediate reaction in some people. And yeah, bizarre stuff happens...LOL!
