I call it an application of an intense moisture mask through light massage. You will have to check out what your state says you can/can't do. For my wraps, I do a dry brushing, followed by an intense moisture mask, wrap up the client and do a facial massage, then unwrap them and massage into the moisture mask into the skin using light effleurage. In Indiana, it's doable. Some states require other certifications. We were taught massage on everything but the thighs. isn't that weird?
Then I wouldn't worry about it. You aren't trying to "give" a massage. You are using effleurage to apply a light moisturizing agent. or whatever you are using. Here in Indiana, Esty's can DO massage as long as it's called a "relaxing" massage. I don't know about you, but as an esty, I am not comfortable with this, but I do a darn good job of massage the moisture pack into the skin.
As long as you're not doing any intentional full muscle manipulation then you'd be alright. The application should be longer, lighter strokes over the skin - that's your primary goal is to work the creams or lotions into the skin, right?
