I have a friend who is a certified aromatherapist and she has invented water soluable sugar scrubs and salt scrubs using really good aromatherapy.  A hot towel wipes it off pretty easily.
Thank you Kandis.   Is this something I can purchase through your friend?
Yes it is.  What state are you in?  We are in Georgia.  She makes fantastic stuff.   We need to make a website for her.  Are you licensed in massage therapy or esthetics?  Reflexology and foot treatments are a great idea too.  I'm not sure if I have her products listed on my website or not but you can check and you can also reach me that way too.  apetitespa.com

Keyano Aromatics has some nice body products. Everything can be wiped off with towles. That is the way we learned them in school. I love doing body treatments...upsell to a facial while they are wrapped up and you have increased your income with minimal time increase.

Audrey- do you mind sharing what kind of body treatments you do?

I learned all the Keyano body treatments: salt glows, body scrubs followed by a body mask (think chocolate or cranberry bog), body contour (slimming) wraps, mud wraps. I find that most body treatments are much alike.

The contour or slimming wraps are different from the scrubs/mask/moisture treatments. The contour/slimming requires you to measure the client and wrap them tightly in plastic, think like a mummy. Salt glow need no wrapping. Moisture treatments you can wrap or not. Lots of flexibility depending on client, time, and cost basis.

The rest of the body treatments can be varied depending on preference and what you have available. Plastic sheets, warming blankets, infrared for the wrap time. Warm wet towels or showers for removal. It's all good.

What is the best way to keep client warm during wrap services?  I have a heating pad and heating blanket  but I feel they are not warm enough.   Is there a better way?

invest in an infrared lamp. they're not very expensive- some more than others. you just really need a basic one.

Do they say they are not warm enough??

Thank you all for your replies.  Very helpful

I have not received complaints but I feel that they should be warmer.  I live in the northeast and when I am doing these services I want them cozy.    I don't get re-bookings on these so.....   i will look into the infrared lamps.     is there a brand name I should be looking at?

check Spa Direct... it seems like that's where I got mine and it was reasonable. Either there or Minerva.

I'm not sure how you are doing the service. I only exposed the part of the body being worked on, then cover it up and move to the next part. That way only a small part is exposed at any time. It does mean that your sheet will get dirty but it's a small price to pay.

We didn't have heat pads or lamps when I learned. So I was sure to use a sheet and blanket and just exposed the part being worked on. It also helps if you warm the product and make sure the moist towels are warm for removing the product. There is a learning curve on doing them this way but the client seems to appreciate the extra effort.

the infrared lamp helps product penetrate deeper into the skin, as well. it duplicates the heat of the sun w/o UV rays. very healing and beneficial- helps draw out toxins.
